As a Relaxation Coach I work with people all of the time who are so stressed that they simply cannot focus. They forget important things. One of the things I teach clients is to know what you value and to make sure that you are always putting your values first.
What most are doing however is the exact opposite. They are spending most of their time on things that in the long scheme of life really isn't important. The people and things that they truely value get dropped through the cracks. This behavior creates more stress causing forgetfulness and irritability with those we love. Many a parent has fogetten to pick up their child at school, a friends home or someplace else. Luckily most of the time this does not result in death or injury to the child.
While I do not excuse what has happened I do understand how it could have happened. Let's stop talking about family values and lets start living them. If your family is really important to you make sure they have a spot on your day planner or PDA. Keep what youy value close to you and stay focused on your values.

I will never understand how anyone could forget that they left their child in the car. I mean, as a parent, if you DID forget to drop off your child, don't you think about them periodically throughout your day?? I would think that most do and wouldn't THAT trigger something in your mind that you forgot?? I don't know, I hate to judge a situation like this but I will never understand it.

I have a suggestion.....put a red ribbon around the childs neck ......with the other end tied to the driver door, that should do it.
