I read in the paper that there isnt going to be a Webster football team? What happened? Did the coach quit? That is a shame for the kids who want to play football. I enjoyed going to those games. Last years team did a great job for as small as a squad they had.

They had a coach and could've had a team but too many parents want to be the coaches so they made their kids stay on the A team to make them look good! Now, there is no Wildcat team, and I hope those parents are happy. They took away from my children and other kids at WSES because of cheerleading, band and even a homecoming. Way to go parents on the Mountaineer A team. I even heard that Angie Hamrick was the Wildcat Booster president and she won't let her child play for the Wildcats. Whats up with that.

Well now you need to grow up a little if you ask me. My child plays for the Mountaineers A Team. You can not say its their fault that the Wildcats dont have a team. They had a choose to what they wanted to play. These boys all played for the B Team last year an made it to the Super Bowl and how long has it been since that has happened? Well as a TEAM they will be able to bring home that Super Bowl trophy this year. You need to get over yourself. There are several boys on that team who weigh less than 70 pounds. As a parent I would not want my 70 pound 6th grader gone against a 220 pound 9th grader when he has the chance to play boys his own age an size. I think you need to come to the parents of them A TEAM parents if you have a problem with it an leave our children out of it. As for you stateing TO MANY PARENTS WANT TO BE THE COACHES can you not handle the fact that they play the kids in positions that they earn to play? Looks to me like you might be afraid that your child might have got the bench position if they played for the MOUNTAINEERS. All I have to say on Angies part is that she is a wonderful parent an Im glad she didnt have her child go out for Wildcats this year that she was concerned about her childs safety. No where does it state that your child has to participate in a school activity to be on the Boosters. If that is so then WHY is Sue Cogar still there? SO TO BELIEVE THIS IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY CHILD BEING ON THE MOUNTAINEER A TEAM YOU CAN QUIT HIDEING BEHIND YOUR COMPUTER AN COME AN TALK TO ME!!! YOU KNOW YOU CAN FIND ME AT BAKERS ISLAND FROM 6 TO 8 THIS EVENING AN 6 to 8 MONDAY, TUESDAY, AND FRIDAY NEXT WEEK!!!!!! Last but not least GOOOOOOOOOOO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!!!!

There is nothing wrong with playing for two teams. If I was the High School coach I would make it a requirement that you play for the elementary school. If you dont then you dont play for the High School. This way the coaching staff can watch the kids mature and he can see where he is going to play them.

I think it is a shame that the school team suffers because of primadona parents. They are hurting other children because of their POOR decisions.

no one said that those kids may or may not play for the wildcats next year. and i personally would rather my child to play then to sit the bench. we all know that first year players dont see the playing time that alot of older or returning players see. and as far as your child that suffers, sorry. most of those kids on the a team football are small, and i commend those parents that chose not to allow or put their child in harms way, due to size. and i know angie and she was upset that there was not a team, but understands that size, weight, and experience are a very important factor in making a good team and as well as your child not getting hurt physicaly and or emotionally. hats off to all you A TEAM parents and kids, youve made a good decision. good luck to the bulldogs as well, your going to need it because you have to deal with MELODY R.

The parents in the little league not letting their kids play in the school league are idiots. The coaches know how to put the kids in the proper positions. There is nothing wrong with riding the bench and learning how to play at practice and maturing as you go! You'll never see a kid in a little league system get a scholarship to anywhere. They need to excel in the school leagues. There are no leagues for high school kids anyway. So why not let them play for both teams? Bunch of overprotective losers. Your kids could get hurt walking across the street. Why not let them play sports.

its because if they play for the school system they have no control like they do now. Now they can put their kids where they want them not where they should be, some should ride the bench but their parents put them out there even though they truely don't deserve it!
