I gave the Humane Society alot of money to be spent on animals in Webster County, not in other counties. Why is the Humane Society using their money to help this Dustin's Angels when they are going out of the county and getting animals? Shouldn't the money that people gave to Webster County stay in Webster County? Just askin.

They are saving dogs from being killed isn't that what they should do? They are saving local dogs as well because I adopted one.

I am sure that the people in Webster County feel the same way I do. I gave money for the animals in Webster County, not the other counties. I also have adopted animals from Webster County. If the money that is suppose to be spent here in Webster is not going to be spent for the animals in Webster then I will not give them another red dime. I am sure that alot of people will not be donation either.

I work with Dustin's Angels and if what you are saying was correct then you woukd have every right to be upset; but it is not. First of all, Dustin's Angels is privately run. We work with the Humane Society to help them with their animals when we are able and we try to make Webster County animals a priority. Our main mission is to save puppies therefore we save them from where ever we need to. Webster Humane Society is wonderful and we work together to save as many animals as possible; but the only thing we have taken from them is dog food when we are fostering their puppies. THEY HAVE NEVER GIVEN US MONEY. We survive solely on fundraisers and donations from the public. Please don't try to turn something good into something bad and do not stop supporting the Humane Society based on false rumors. Thank you to everyone that has supported us up to this point and we pray that we can continue rescuing many more animals in Dustin Browns name.

Dustin's Angels and all of the other people who are rescuing right now are doing great. Our neighbor had puppies and they worked there butts off trying to place them. I imagine they're taking more money from their own pockets to take care of these babies than anybody knows about. I think it's great if the counties can work together. How many of you even if you were able to help would take a houseful of puppies not knowing how long you'd have to clean up after them and all the other things that have to be done until you could find a foster home to help or a forever home? We need to start thanking all of these people. And there are so many ways to help besides money and time. If you know a friend or family member who has a dog that is not spayed or neutered and you don't trust these organizations to use your money but you want to help save the animals then offer to help with the expenses of the friends and family pets. I'm very grateful for these people. I thank God for them. The best way to help is take responsibility SPAY OR NEUTER. Not only does it prevent unwanted babies but it's healthier for your pet. It cuts down there chances for getting cancer or dying while giving birth.

Keep saving animals lives. I love seeing people working hard to save helpless animals lives. As long as no animal or money is being misused I see no harm being done. Yea it would be nice to see Webster animals from shelter being saved but that is county commissioners doings. At least they r out saving animals. I have donated to humane society & dustins Angels. Not meaning to sound mean but at least your money is being used to save any animals even though they r not in our county they r being saved & helped. God wants us to help all creatures.

I adopted a dog from the Webster County Humane society and I know for a fact that they try their best to help local dogs and cats...go to their Facebook site and you will see what they are doing....Dustin's Angels work their tails off and try to do the best they can with what they have...I have a friend who adopted a dog from them...both places depend on donations and foster homes to survive...unfortunately they do not have a location to keep their animals...if anyone wants to step up and help foster then more could be done for "local" animals...please don't withhold contributions from either place...the money is saving lives...foster, adopt, and donate please

Just for the record there are only 2 groups that care for Webster animals, the Humane Society and Dustin's Angels. Big Dog Rescue does not.

seriously why do you ppl care? As long as the money is being used to save animals.I have donated money to all 3 groups , they work very hard in saving animals,I have complaints about every one of the rescues but who and what is perfect. Big dog is picky and to expensive, and only does pure breed , Dustin angels needs to be more organized , and the humane society needs to offer more care fore their animals all animals rescued should be fix before finding a home .but they are trying to help and if this county had more people like them Webster county would be so much nicier

I can't understand why people are always bitching about the Humane Society and Dustin's Angels like they are bad organizations or something. We have worked our butts off for years with the Humane Society but are not members, we take in strays, feed them, love them and find them good homes but the main problem is the fact that it costs so damn much to have an animal spayed or neutered, it is cheaper to just let them keep having puppies and kittens and that is why people don't get their animals fixed. Spaying and neutering these animals is not a big procedure and shouldn't cost a penny over $25.00 per animal but you're looking at the better portion of a hundred dollar bill and people just don't have it. I'm not saying that to defend those who don't have their animals fixed but rather to criticize local veterinarian offices who would rather make that extra little bit of money that may not seem like much to them but is grocery money for someone for a month than they would reduce the cost of these operations to an affordable rate. The Nicholas Animal Hospital does offer a discount to Humane Society animals but it's only like $20.00 off the standard cost and the animal clinic down next to Sutton has refused to even consider working with the Humane Society here or there to reduce the cost of spaying and neutering. What needs to be done is someone needs to get on the phone and start putting pressure on these vet offices to do something to help. If enough people raise a stink they might stop and listen. Their job is to help animals and I think sometimes they forget that and get all wrapped up in the money and not the cause for which they became veterinarians.

I have to say this Big Dog Rescue is about the breed and then she flips em.I recently ask them to help with a friends dog but since its a mix breed mut who had no care in 3 yrs she claims she has no room for any more animals then 2 days later she was getting a boxer . I bet most of her animals already have chips and vet care I mean someone payed money for them at 1 pt so I'm sure they cared for it . I just don't believe she is always spayed/nueturing like she claims. Most of her food is donated so bam $100-$150 profit on each pure breed wow not bad for a charity

I find this entire site and thread ridiculous. BUT since I have come up as such the topic of conversation I think I'll just add to it. EVERY RESCUE IS DIFFERENT!!!! Educate yourself on how rescue works and you will see that every group operates differently. Some focus on specific breeds. Others only puppies, others only black dogs, some just nursing mothers. The Humane Society works hard for this county. If you don't like what they are doing....find another group to work with. Dustin's Angels pulls lots of different kinds of dogs. If you think they need order offer to help them. I'm sure they would accept help. Big Dogs Rescue (my rescue)pulls mostly boxers now. The rescue community knows I know the breed, have lots of boxer contacts and will vet, spay/neuter, and train my dogs. ALL of my dogs are microhipped, spayed/neutered, fully vetted (blood work and stool samples) have been heartworm tested and are negative before adoption, and completely up to date on shots. They are also on heartworm preventative and flea/tick medicines. If any illnesses are present at any point in our care they are treated for it and not adopted until cleared by the vet. We have had dogs with cancer, coccidia, mange, tumors, heart murmurs, skin infections, eye infections, ear infections, broken legs, needing physical therapy and dog aggressive dogs. Big Dogs eat lots of food. Yes some of our food is donated but we buy a lot of it as well. As far as being a flipper...call me what you want. You are full of it and just mad I didn't take your dog. I have foster homes willing to foster certain types, breeds, sexes, ages, and issues. Your dog apparently didn't meet the requirements for whatever foster home I had open at the time. Seeing how it seems you can do so much better than the rest of us I suggest you start your own rescue. One woman in particular who accuses me of these exact things had to surrender her own dogs almost a year ago and was furious I couldn't take them. I had no foster homes at the time and had no means to train and care for them at that time. I don't take every dog I'm asked to because I can't care for every dog people want to get rid of. I take on what I have the funds, placement, and means to better. If I can't vet and feed them what use am I to them. ANd in all honesty why should i accept owner surrenders. THe majority of the time there is no good reason for you to be rehoming your dog...your faithful companion who sits at MY door looking for you after you dump him. I do not only take in purebreeds. I have a feist mix currently, have had pit mix puppies, bulldog mixes, a great dane, shep mixes and a rottie mix. I mean come on. I have not helped in this county yet. I feel most of the people who have asked for my help here are like you and just want to sit back and damn all of us for your shortcomings. If anyone should be embarrassed it's you. I give kudos to Dustins and Webster county for helping so much in this community and admit that I have not. I have offered a spay/neuter transport for the county which was only utilized by Hacker Valley residents.

i know dustins angels and jessica and know some of their fosters for pets. these groups care about pets-usually pets whom someone else for one reason or nother have abandoned by their owners and now leaves someone else to clean up their mess and take care of their responsibilites. but these two groups gladly do it. they help animals and really care for them. i beleive they do great work and should be thanked instead of harassed and complained about. we do not know every situation or every reasoning behind the tuff decisions they sometimes have to make. i am proud someone from our neck of the woods are doing things to help make this world better.if you can do as well or better than them i am sure they need many more fosters. if ya really care about the animals you can always pitch in. go hacker valley rescues!
