We have had several unexplained things happen at our house. Many pictures and nic-nacks have been moved without anyone being in the room. I have heard loud knocks on my bedroom wall while everyone else was asleep. And we have heard several unexplained noises late at night. We had a family members ashes in our house and think there may have been a connection there. I'm fascinated with the supernatural, but I don't enjoy it happening in my home.
My aunt lived in a haunted house in Marmet and she had enough things happen there that she could write a book.

AWESOME. Thanks a lot y'all for responding.

I've heard little things in my days but nothing like you two have. You all must be scared silly. I would be. No matter how much I love someone I could not have their ashes in the house. Just to spooky for me.

TO: Bout time. Did this happen in a house you no longer love in? Weren't you to scared to stick around.

TO: Bout time: Tell me more about the house your Aunt lived in. I'm like you I really am fascinated with the supernatural but wouldn't want it in my house either.

In two other houses that I have lived in, I have seen what looked like a person in the two different mirrors, when I turned around there wasn't any sign of anything unusual in the mirrors.

For years now, in the house I live in, I have seen shadows move along the hallway wall. This happens day and night and when there is no one in any of the rooms or hallway. My windows are high off the ground, so it isn't someone outside my house either making the shadows.

In the last house we lived in we experienced several small things. Just after we moved in pictures would fall off the wall, but none ever broke. Then (I know this sounds silly but true)while in the bathroom the toilet tissued unrolled itself, draping tissue on the floor as I watched. It didn't stop unrolling until I touched the roll! HOWEVER, things stopped after we lived there a while. I never ever felt uncomfortable at all. In the house we live in now I've heard a man's voice on occasion while my husband was outside. Again, I've never felt uneasy though.

If I heard a voice or saw something I'd probably poop myself and run out and never go back in. HaHa.

Also in the house that we are still living in, besides the shadows:
Our son was out late one night and the hallway light came on, so I figured it was our son coming home. After several waiting minutes for him to turn the hallway light out, I got up and turned it off and checked on my son, he wasn't home yet.

After about 20 minutes or so, the hallway light came back on and I thought he finally made it home. After about 10 minutes the light was turned off, so I was sure he had made it home, so I checked on him again and he still wasn't home.

30 minutes or so, he did make it home, I could hear him this time, and he didn't even need to use the light when he came home. LOL

When I was in the Army and living in California the bedroom that our children shared was always cooler than any of the other rooms in the house, during the summer or winter.

One night our son asked for a drink during the night and my wife got up and gave him a glass of water, and pushed the empty glass far back on the dresser where he couldn't reach it and went back to bed.

A few hours later we were woke to the sound of glass breaking and it sounded like a window.
I got up and checked the kid's room and they were still sleeping, so I called the Military Police to check out the area around our house.

We could hear them walking and talking around the house, they soon came to the door and told us everything looked OK. So we checked on the kids again and went back to bed.

The next morning before the kids woke up, I checked on them again and this time the drinking glass was broken all over the floor in the door way near the dresser, if it had been there earlier that night I would of cut my bare feet up pretty bad, but it wasn't.

The next day we were telling the woman from next door about what had happened. She told us that since she didn't know us very well when we first moved in that she didn't tell us that before we moved into the house that the Military Police and Fire Department had showed up at our house.
When they couldn't find anyone home they ask her and her husband where the people were that lived in the house.

They told the Miltary Police and Fire Department that the house has been empty for a while now. They told our neighbors that 911 was called from the house, and the phone service had been disconnected for a while also.

I some times think we are paranormal magnets. LMAO

Here are just some of the things that went on at my aunt's house in Marmet. Over a time period of about 7 years she had clothes in her closet pushed all the way to one side on several occasions, when she would spread them back apart and come back a few minutes later they would be shoved all the way back over again and she was the only one home. She had a small dog that would bark and growl at her attic door and then welp, run under her couch and shake. He would do this almost every night close to midnight. My cousin said she woke up one night and saw a man in an old timey baseball uniform hovering over her and then bed started to shake and then the end lifted up and slammed down. On another occasion my three cousins were in the livingroom and they had the game called Simon, the red light on it was burnt out and there were no batteries in it but it started playing on its own and the red light even lit up. Anyone that stayed in that house could tell you about an experience they had while staying there and it really freaked me out just walking in the door. My aunt had owned a red book on witchcraft and (as kids) my cousins and I had used an Ouji Board there so that could have been the reason for the haunting, but who knows. lol I would love to go back to that house and see if anything weird still happens but she moved out several years ago.

I lost my dad just a litle over a year and a half ago. It was early January 2011. Of course I was having a hard time dealing with it at nite when the day finally ended and for about a week striaght I kept having horrible nightmares and in every nightmare I could never get to my dad to save him and he would always "fade away". Then one night I set straight up in bed and my lamp was on so I turned it off and went back to sleep just to be startlrd awake again to find the light on again. I turned it off again and went back to sleep and was starled awake again to find the light on this time too.So I woke up my husband to see if maybe he had turned it on and of course he hadn't and he turned back over and went to sleep. So I lay there watching the "turned off" and nothing happened but then I began to doze off and was at the "half asleep" stage and the light turned back on.So I turned it off this time and watched for hours but it never did turn back on and hasn't since. I have some of my dads ashes in a small ashes saver in my bedroom and my husband has some jewelery of his mothers that she used to wear in our room too.Our home was new when we bought it in 2001 so we have been the only people to live here so it doesn't even have the chance to be hauntings of the centuries past!

Years ago I worked at Camp Caesar in the summers in the kitchen. After I graduated from high school I went to work there as the grounds keeper mowing grass, weedeating, raking leaves and keeping the trash picked up. This was a better paying job and was my first real attempt at working after high school. I worked for several summers in the kitchen and had always heard some of the old ladies who had been there for many years talk about various strange occurrences throughout the camp's history that they either remembered happening or were themselves witnesses to. Many years before my time there a girl was supposedly murdered in the upstairs of the old Slabsides cabin, the red two story one with the big stone porch in the trees off to the right as you're walking up to the Council Circle. I guess she was a camper and there were just a few girls in that cabin on the night this happened but it was rumored that the camp's first director who was the director at the time this incident was supposed to have happened was the one who slipped in the cabin and slit this girls throat with a large knife while she slept. There was never any evidence to back any of these claims up so it all just became a part of history and legend around the camp. One evening late in the fall around hunting season just before I was through working there for the year my boss asked me up to Slabsides to light the propane heaters late one evening before I left to go home. He wasn't feeling well and had decided to call it a day so I told him I hoped he felt better and that I'd take care of it since we had a group of hunters coming in the following day to spend a few days in Slabsides and it was already fairly cold at night so we knew if we turned the heat on early it would be warm by the time the hunters arrived the following afternoon. When I walked in the cabin it was still light enough to see, it had been a clear day and the sun was setting but it was nearing twilight as I walked in and lit the stove. For some reason this overwhelming feeling of dread crept over me as I stood there after lighting the stove. I could almost hear a faint whisper of a young girl saying, "Get out of here, this is my cabin and I don't want anyone in here with me!" It didn't take me long to exit the front door. As I walked off the porch and down the short drive to the main road through camp at the edge of the woods a chilly wind picked up blowing leaves all around me as I walked toward the road away from the cabin. When I got to the foot of the hill I looked behind me and up to one of the second floor windows. I thought, "Damn it, someone left the lights on upstairs." and against my better judgment I started back toward the cabin to go up and turn them off when I dared to look again and there in the window was the figure of a young girl standing there in a white night gown like women and girls wore to bed many years ago. I could plainly see her face, her eyes were white as snow, no pupils as she seemed to stare straight ahead and the front of her gown was covered with blood. I didn't go back in the cabin that night and I never went in it alone again after that. The next day I told my boss what had happened, he laughed at me and told me I was full of shit. I just shrugged and said, "Well, maybe one of these days you'll find yourself up there just before dark and you'll get to meet her too, then I'll say, "I told you so."
