Webster County Hospital

[Curious]

What is your opinion of the hospital. When I was born there years ago it was a good place. However it is only a shadow of what it was.What I have heard lately is the final straw. They need to fire the entire staff of rude lazy people and hire some people who deserve the positions there.

just recently tried to get some appts. there for a new doc . the receptionist said if i happened to need any pain meds along with my other meds the hospital would refuse to fill any pain med prescriptions for me or my family. they explained how they could see us for other conditions but nothing that required pain meds. now me and my husband both have conditions where we do need some pain meds and even muscle relaxers at times. but we have several other very urgent medical conditions also. she said regarless of conditions ect. they couldnt help us with those conditions requiring pain meds. i told her it wouldnt be worth the effort then to come to that hospital as we would then agin have to see a second doctor/doctors for these conditions.
now i get there are many people addicted to pain meds. but the doc's. themselves along w/other medical agencies have promoted those addicitons. and i really feel disrespected and let down by medical profesionals who willingly refuse medical treatment for people needing a proper pain medicine prescription for real true ailments. and i don ot appreciate being treated as an addict or drug dealer for trying to get treatment for true pain conditions that are beyond our control. we have yrs. of xrays and medical records supporting these conditions so it isnt like they are made up ot they couldnt read our medical records first before refusing any treatments.they did not even ask about any of that when i called.
whats next you cant get other meds if people abuse them too? like people who take depression meds, meds for adhd ect? or any other med a person could abuse. this is censorship. they take an oath to "do no harm" what ever happened to taking care of their patients? never seen a hospital or doctors office who didnt want patients. what do they do to current patients who get injured and ill and need help? refuse to treat them? i would think long and hard before you see these people.

Good point. Why is the receptionist telling you what the Doctor can or cant do for you! Your health care is your Doctors responsibility,only he should decide what to prescribe for you. This behavior by the receptionist is common and unacceptable,she should be fired and replaced by a more professional person. They think their paycheck is guaranteed and gives them the right to treat people like crap. Your experience is one of many that needs to be rectified. Many people are leaving this hospital and going somewhere else because of the way they are treated by the staff.

There is a new Doctor there that does not like to give out pain meds.
But the other Doctors are not as strict as he is.

The pill heads coming in all the time just to get a quick fix, is making it harder for those who really need the pain meds to be able to get them.

he's young, give him time and he will be like the other doctor's. show up for work just to get their pay check & not caring what is actually wrong with the patients. he will have them come back time after time to see him instead of sending them somewhere to get the help they need.

its pretty bad that when you gotta go to the hospital in the first place but its even worse when you get treated like a piece of dirt by the staff. it seems like they all have a d¡ck up their @$$ everytime i have to go there. ide rather waste money on a trip to summersville than to deal with them @$$holes!!!

It sounds like the place is getting even worse. I wouldn't know, as I stopped visiting that "hospital" long ago. In my entire life, I've seen one good doctor, and he damn sure never worked here. You can't even call these people bad doctors, because they really don't qualify as doctors at all, given that they flat out refuse to perform many aspects of the job.

It's a shame that people can't vote with their wallets and avoid the place altogether; they'll still get their funding.

you all need to keep your big mouths shut about what is going on at the webster hospital

every time i get a back pain (or at least i think i do), i get to go over and use my state medical card to get another prescription of hydrocodone for my pain (and heck, the pills i don't use always go for good use for someone else and i make a few cigarette and beer dollars along the way)

so i hope this place stays open just the way it is for a long time

so shut your traps and don't ruin a good thing for the rest of us

It's a shame, doesn't matter if they graduated at the top of their class or dead last, they still get the title 'Dr'. Maybe you should ask their GPA the next time you visit ?

Another thing don't blame the staff for your problems. Why don't you read the new state legistlation taking affect, that is if you know what that means

look, i worked hard to get me my welfare benefits and free medical card, so i can get my some hydros when my back pain acts up i think; so what if i trade a few extra pills for some sex, or other drugs, or some beer money; after all, i earned it figuring out how to get all these free handouts; don't be jealous of me just because you're too dumb to figure out the system

and leave them good folk at the hospital alone, they give me my drugs whenever i show up in the emergency room with my back pain

As to those questioning any of the staff, since you're so intelligent, why don't you go thru the steps of going to PA, NP, PT, nursing school, or medical school and try to change the system since your not happy with it. Or would you rather get handed everything and sit on your butt and complain how awful your life is instead off taking responsibility for yourself?

Let me guess... the receptionist was Sonya! Shes good at that!! I don't know why they dont fire her ugly fat ass. Granted, there are some really nice, caring, friendly PROFESSIONAL staff at WCMH but there are some (Like Sonya) that need to go! That goes to include a certian PA who thinks hes God!! Its sad when someone with life long medical conditions cant get the treatment they need and deserve because of the ones that they claim abuse the system or because a staff member dont like you. If you are a staff member or a family member of staff then you are in the click and will get proper PROFESSIONAL care. BUt if not...then you're just screwed!

I like Sonya. Everytime I call and leave message and she is not there, she always calls back. Maybe you are just jealous. She is very efficient, alot better than what they use to have.

Mr. Malice. How can you judge "their" qualifications, or comment on what they will or won't perform if you "stopped visiting that "hospital" long ago"?

the good folk at the hospital hand out my hyrdo scripts like penny candy, and i don't even pay a penny cuz i got me my free state med card; they are good folk for giving me my pills for my aches and pains, even if i only need half of what they give me and the other half goes to good use for other folk i sell them to for their pain
