The parks were a fun place this weekend. Our families enjoyed two of them with different groups. The city council has done the right thing with our parks.

The problem is the propsed Heritage Park that will cost the city 10+ mil on the north east lot at the corner of Ft Worth and Santa Fe. A propery that is deed restricted for First Monday. The current city council is trying to break that deed restriction. On property where Hobson is loacated is tp be apartments/condos that the city will support with money help.

Wow. Someone says they enjoyed the city parks and it turns in to a fanatical rant. Is there anything you people won't complain about? The work is coming to an end in your eyes and it's always someone else's fault. Wowsers.

Hey Old Woman, you best get in the park and stay there. you need to use all the parks all day everyday since you helped this city council. by the time those fools are done they will have spent %100million on parks while ignoring the State of TX's ruling to move the sewage lines away from the water supply lines to keep our children's drinking and bathing water clean so they would be healthy. You know, healthy enough to play in a dirt field with clean water. You idiot!

Mr Moylan,
I can see her now, along with All the City Council members, playing a sweet game a TAG at Holland's Lake Park and then all of them jumping on their bikes to ride the....how many million dollars?- bike path over to the Northside to which park? hmmmm Maybe they could just ride over to First National Bank and pick up some more checks from their involvement in this contracts?
It is such a refreshing picture in the mind to think of those on Council making all that money off all these contracts and then so happy that they run gleefully into the parks.
You are damn straight that they are happy about the parks. Who knows how much they have made off of them personally. I am pretty sure the concrete company, Freese and Nichols and their subs, are very GRATEFUL for all the "work"
Too bad they couldnt find a contractor to kickback some green for them to vote on separating the water supply lines from the sewer lines like the State instructed them to do. But hey, you cant really see those carcinogens now can you?

Parks and Recreation areas are great if you can afford them. We would all like to have a new car every year but building debt is not worth the new car smell. But your city council has built up plenty of debt for the taxpayers but somehow they seem to be doing very well on their $50 a month. How does that happen?

Susie Orman wrote: <quoted text> They either A. Own a successful business B. have a real job besides the City Council C. Are retired after years of service in their profession. Really? Which of these statements would describe Waymon Hamilton? Ha, NONE. He was fired from every job that he has every had and he has only worked at walmart, tgy and gas stations - fired from every one. Everyone who lives here that is in the 50's and older know that. Which one would you say describes Craig swancy? he was forced off the fire dept then retaliated against Chief Teague and had him outed once he was on council because Chief Teague, like most people who grew up with those horrible Swancy guys, could not put up with his behavior. Yes, he retired alright and do you really think he make enough money out of that dumpy music store to take 5 trips to Alaska and Europe? Come on You are correct about the others having jobs. That is all I will say about that.

Councilor wrote: <quoted text> I'm thinking it's WAY past apology time. Much more like litigation time. When a person becomes an elected official they give up a great amount of personal privacy. In a small town their family usually gets the fall-out from their relative's public life. Public opinion of their actions and words is part of the job and good, bad or ugly they have to take their lumps. Every citizen of Weatherford has a right to publicly express their opinion of the elected officials who serve them. "If you cannot take the heat do not get in the seat." A wise elected official listens to his public, Not just his fan club, but the critical comments as well. It seems our council mostly prefers to exclude the public as much as they dare. It is their mistake for sure.
