A few comments about our current mayor. They are a few because he is mostly nice and polite, well dressed but not much more. As a leader he gets a c-. MOstly he rates a d in conducting decorum in the council chambers. He allowed city employees to exhibit rude disrespectful actions toward citizens makeing public statememts to the council. Totally unacceptable at any time. As a figure head sitting at the podium he excells. Too bad, he has been given that seat and kept there to further the agendas of others. To sum it up , he makes a good car dealer and grips and grins with the best of them.

Could be that he just plain cannot conduct a meeting and keep order. Lip service, smooth talk, grip and grin glad handing car salesman is his strong points. This is why he has been kept on the council. Oh yes, don't forget the little favors he dispenses to the lucky few developers and ect. that flow from his position on the council. Remember these old boys are all about the money, money money that falls in their pockets from these no salary positions. This is an old song with lyrics everyone knows but looks the other way. There are about 800 really silly social voters here who are responsible for your high taxes and bad infrastructure, and overly restrictive codes and ordinances. Why you ask? Because they keep running to the ballot box like brainless sheep and voteing for these baffons.

It is hoped someone, anyone, a warm body will step up and give us all a choice for mayor at this upcomming city election. A clean breath of fresh air is seriously needed. WE are stagnant with the smell in the council chambers. Anyone who askes too many questions and wants to bring to light financial problems or mismanagement is vigerously fought behind the scenes with maliace and threats to his or her lively hood and personal life. The whole nasty nest of nasty narfs needs to be flushed down the drain. This includes the entire current city council.

Well, guess you are right there. Dennis doesn't have the rep as a wife beater. He is not agressive enough for anyone to think that. He is just not good at being the head of city government and conducting council meetings and insuring that citizens are treated with respect by staff when they come to speak to council.

Well, Dennis has tossed his hat in the ring to try and keep his perch on the council. His new wheels say it all--A Black Corvette with vanity plates no less. News flash, Dennis, a mid-life crisis set of wheels will not make you look younger. It just makes you look older driving a toy. Have fun. JUst don't think you will be taken seriously. Must be fun to be able to switch autos like you do your socks.

Then get off your duff and get involved in fixing the problems. Otherwise the Democrats are all talk and no action even in the town where they live. Remember the city is non-partison in elections. Some new blood will be very welcome. More citizen friendly leadership will be too.

Beep! What person have you been observing conducting city council meetings? Dennis can barely manage to get himself to meetings let alone run them properly. He is not a leader nor is he proactive about serious situations that are arising lately. Nice guy, good dresser, plays golf a lot, sucessful career as a car saleman, good at smooth talking lipservice, just not what is needed now as mayor.

I am the one who is actually running against Dennis for the position as Weatherford mayor. The night that I announced, I told him actually the race was not against him, but against the two morons on his left hand side, Swancy and Hamilton. I could tell that Dennis was really hurt that I was running against him and truly I felt rather sorry for him. Indeed, seeing him since, I am wondering if he will even finish the race.

I guess, since I am a mayoral candidate, I am obligated to tell you something about myself. As Caesar said I came, I saw, I conquered. Originally, Im not from here, but further west. Im an economics graduate of Texas Tech and an industrial poweer transmission engineer. Im from the corporate world and retired. If you want more, just wait.

Dennis Hooks does not need your sympathy for his continuing to seek re-election on the council. It is just possible he has been "incouraged" to remain there to vote for certain "projects" scheduled to come before the council for a vote. Hummmmm? He is not a good leader and allows city employees to ridicule citizens who have come to council to seek redress for a serious problem at the Animal Shelter. THis bad behavior by the mayor and city employees was observed by a room full of citizens. Dennis seems to be rather lack luster in his enthusiasim for his position on the council these days. It might be best if he just concentrated upon his golf game instead.

Well golly gosh, seems I cant spell according to the pusillanimous Punchinello calling themselves 1reader. Try finding a dictionary and looking up those two words. Start in the section entitled P.

And as for my temper, I am a Marine, not some draft dodging limp wristed worm.

Enough time already.

Pusillanimous - Cowardly

Punchinello - fool

And I wouldn't recommend you try further dilatations with me unless you want to want to continue looking lugubrious.

He does not have a terrible temper, he is passionate about what is right and he will defend the constitution with his life. I beleive he has already done so in his life. He also has a strong corporate executive background and education to match. Just so you get the facts correct, if that is at all important to you.

He is a self righteous jerk full of hot air. Listen to him speak at city council sometime. He loves to hear himself boast about all his accomplishments and complain about all the injustice going on at city council but you WON'T hear are solutions. WHY? He has no solutions just complaints. Get a grip people. He is a old guy just like me who has no idea what it takes to do the job. Atleast I recognize it.
