WEll, typical of this place and the current council members. The whole mess has gone quiet while the administration try to smooth it over and please the three council members who are up for re-election. Makes them look bad and exposes a long term unaddressed problem that had been neglected. Everyone at that level of administration at the city was aware of the issue. It is just what happens when someone in charge indulges personal things into an employer and employee issue. NOw it has tobe corrected and feet are dragging to keep from doing the right thing. Time will tell if positive changes will occur. Replace the three bumps on the council and that will happen quickly.

You, me and about 40,000 people across the US are waiting for this answer. Please let us know. Did they go in and euthanize ALL of the pit bulls over the weekend, or not?

We have ALL this problems with the Animal Shelter. The current council has been aware of them. BUT, the current council spent 1 million dollars on the First Monday animal sale building to appaise those from out of town. Did we elect the c ouncil member to take money away from the residents of Weatherford in favor of those non-taxpaying out-of-towners?

They don't adopt the pitbulls out so YES they were all EU'd. This is a common practice there. The only reason that specific date was posted was because those EU dates are typically kept quiet. We just happened to get word of a Pitbull kill date this time and notified the public. the shelter, despite repeated requests- still refuses to allow pitbulls to be pulled by approved 501c3 rescues. Please be sure to read the March issue of the Parker County Today magazine. There is a very large article about the shelter. It will (or should) OUTRAGE you as a taxpayer! Please go to Help Weatherford Shelter Pets on Facebook too. This is a page dedicated to reforming the shelter and informing the public.

You have supporters by the dozens in this shelter fiasco. Change is comming to the council if you all wil help and get out the vote this election. Three incumbents can be replaced and a lot of the issues will get delt with is short order. None of us are impressed with the horse and pony show that is being put on by the city to try and smooth over the shelter disaster during this election period. The incumbents only concern is how it will effect their re-election bid. In the list of things of serious importance to them the shelter does not even register. It is just an annoyance. Too many large dollar projects are floating around their little heads at the present. They have to stay incharge inorder to carry them out. The taxpayers are in danger of haveing their wallets cleaned out once again. The seniors in this town are the largest voting bloc and they should do something about these greedy folks who do not care whether they stay in their homes or what. They are in control and will steam roller over any objections that will limit their power.

People stop distorting the facts. Intimidation and lies is all you can come up with and just like a bully I am positive you will not go away. You derive too much pleasure out of harassing city officials.

Here is what the shelter reform members are trying to achieve for the taxpayers of Parker County:

by teaching citizens:

This is data from Nathan Winograd. He is the founder of the no-kill movement. He has provided HUNDREDS of shelters nation wide with the tools, resources and guidance to change to a more fiscally responsible method of dealing with shelter animals.
