And what issue is that? When you related your issue to the dogs, did they understand? It doesn't matter who you are - you are on this forum posting about the animal shelter and because of that you are one of the "girls".

Hey everyone, don't forget to pick up a sign to help spread the word.....the city now has someone going on blogs to try to get us to take them down.:-). You can get your sign at Spectacles West across from Chikfila in Weatherford. Let us know when you get yours.... Post a picture :-)

The animal people had a sign on their truck in the veterans parade sporting an adaptation of the motto of the most deployed unit in the U. S. Army - The 10th Mountain Division. They should leave the military mottos alone and not twist them for their own use. Total disrespect.

Again, it is YOU who twists and LIES, LIES, LIES.

Here is the link to our banner: https://www.facebook.com/ #!/photo.php?fbid=295193520582 015&set=a.274412239326810. 48074.261647973936570&type =1&theater

You may have been (incorrectly) referencing the banner for America's Canine Academy. The man who was our honorary guest was Mark German, a war Veteran. He is a professional dog trainer/behavioralist.

Here is the link to Fort Drum-- where the Mountain Division is based out of. PLEASE show me how Mr. German's banner is ANYTHING like the infantry's motto of, Climb to Glory????

Maybe I should suggest to PCPA to take up a charity donation to get you some new glasses?!?!

Climb to glory is their song not their motto. Most branches of the service have used the motto "no one left behind". This is the universal military motto that you adapted for your own use. I was in no way referring to your dog trainer's flag nor any other flag, just your banner. Grow up!

10TH MOUNTAIN DIVISION SONG
CLIMB TO GLORY

Were the 10th Mountain Infantry
With a glorious history
On our own two feet, all our foes well defeat
Light Fighters marching on to victory
We go where others dare not go
In the heat or cold of snow
We are proud to be in the Army of the Free
Climb to Glory, Mountain Infantry
Climb to Glory, the Light Infantry

Soldier's Creed
I am an American Soldier.

I am a Warrior and a member of a Team.

I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values.

I WILL ALWAYS PLACE THE MISSION FIRST.

I WILL NEVER ACCEPT DEFEAT.

I WILL NEVER QUIT.

I WILL NEVER LEAVE A FALLEN COMRADE.

I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough,

trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.

I always maintain my arms, my equipment, and myself.

I am an expert and I am a professional.

I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies

of the United States of America in close combat.

I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.

Actually, you DID say "the motto of the most deployed unit in the U.S. Army- The 10th Mountain Division" and that motto is: Climb to Glory. Please see their Facebook page, wikipedia, or pretty much any other resource available to you to see that you are once again, WRONG.

In reference to our motto, "Until No Pet Is Left Behind", sure its kinda-sorta-not really, similar to "No One Left Behind" (97,600 search results) and did you really mean the Marine saying of, "Until they are home, No man left behind"??? but so is:

"No Child Left Behind" (2,650,000 search results)
"No Person Left Behind" (5,200 search results)
"No Pet Left Behind" (6,610 search results)
"No Dog Left Behind" (19,000 search results)
"No Cat Left Behind" (2,290 search results)
and just FYI "Until No Pet Is Left Behind" had 184,000,000 search results.

I guess you will have A LOT of complaint letters to write all of these different organizations, companies, non-profits, and people who have used some form or adaptation of "No _______ Left Behind." Afterall, I'm CERTAIN all of them purposefully linked themselves to the military's, broad and happenstance, "motto"/slogan.

Shannon in your posting of the parade picture where you were thanking the "person who lived there" for posting your no kill sign - what a disappointment that must be for the business owner who had posted that referenced sign.

And yes there are many corruptions of the motto No Man Left Behind. Most notable would be George Bush's no child left behind. Even that is no excuse.

The "negligence of irresponsible pet owners"
The name Sandra Evans comes to mind. Remember her? The "rescue girls" defended that irresponsible pet owner.
Her dog was a known roamer, she let it out unleashed and unrestained, it got out of her yard, it was picked up, it was a threat to the community because Evans had failed to get it innoculated for rabies and had not had it neutered; it was not microchipped.
Had Evans been a responsible pet owner her dog would have been released to her the first day she went to get it.
But the Dog Girls used Evans as a political tool, portraying her as a responsible pet owner who was mistreated by evil shelter staffers who want to kill every dog in the place when she was every bit as much culpable for her dog's death as the shelter.
So, let me see if I understand this all correctly. Ms. Evans was irresponsible, her pet was picked up and taken to the shelter. At some point, she went to the animal shelter to get it back. She agreed to pay extra for the shelter to get the dog caught up on it's shots (to become a better pet owner?) The shelter then kills her pet by accident:( http://weatherforddemocrat.com/local/x1241980... ). And the people who don't like what is going on at the shelter are a problem for trying to get the shelter to do a better job?

Did I get that correct?

No you did not get this correct. The dog was a known fence jumper, intact male, and let out with no supervision nor was the dog on a leash. Had the owner taken the proper precautions the animal would never have been picked up by animal control. To encourage this irresponsible pet owner to sue the city was ludicrous. And since you do not know the circumstances under which the animal was accidentally euthanized, to blindly blame the entire shelter is also ludicrous. Since this group of reformers are not knowledgeable in shelter operations and certainly less qualified than anyone employed there, why are they complaining? They have from the beginning tried to convince the public that they "know" what is best for the shelter and how best to improve the shelter. From what I have heard the shelter has already obtained PROFESSIONAL advice on shelter improvements. The Weatherford shelter does not need your suggestions nor your criticism. Perhaps you should return to being critical of the Fort Worth shelter? You and your friend can go back to sleep now.

Mary, Mary you give yourself away!! So defensive about the animal shelter. You also have a lot of information from behind the scenes there. You must have a close personal connection to the shelter as well. Wonder who or what it is?

There has been no turnover of staff at the shelter. I'm not surprised that you post incorrect information.
Really MaryRoseSmith? No turn over of staff? Maybe you ought go visit the shelter. Or do you work there?

It seems to me that the current Director on the city webpage is listed as Dustin Deel. Did he replace Dianne Daniels? Where in the world is she anyway? Did she retire? Or is she still on city payroll?

Where did the front desk guy go, Sean was it? Who is Kenzie? What is her title/position? Did she replace Sean?

Seems I heard some squawky bird talk that the shelter is also short an ACO now too? Can't seem to confirm that rumor, anyone still go there who can take role call and give a head count and report back?
