There is only one thing to say to the alarmist and misguided folks who want all guns gone. "Guns do not kill people. People kill people". All people have a right to be able to defend themselves from harm and protect their freedom. Guns are the necessary tool to do so. AS with all tools there will always be those who abuse and misuse them. That is why we have laws concerning their use.

To include the right to bear arms, the public's right to ban assault and semi-automatic weapons. Those convicted of a felony shall have their property searched for weapons and confiscated along with added felony charge.

After you have banned the evil "semi automatic" guns. Some nut will shoot up a church or school with a pump shotgun and then "noone needs to have more than one shot at a time!" So we will defend our homes and families with single shot pistols and rifles. Then some crazy will shoot up a mall, loading between shots, maybe hack a couple of kids with an ax, then "noone in this day and age needs to own A GUN or bladed weapon." Then we are at the mercy of the crazies and criminals. Not to mention the most important fact:
There is an armed militia in America 6 million strong with 600 million guns. No army in the world can take us over.
The solution is armed humans in any building where there are people gathered. Our principals and vice principals should have the option of concealed carry. Do you think that coward in Connecticut would have gone to the school knowing at least one armed person stood between him and the innocents?
It will cost money but it is better than taking away our right to defend our homes.

He really was a coward, women and children. No stomach for facing an adult male, that is why he shot himself as soon as law arrived. One armed and trained person in that school and a lot more innocent children could have gone home. He didn't buy the guns he used he stole them, granted he stole them from his mother, but he stole them none the less, does anyone really believe that criminals will not have guns? Murder is a crime, every state has laws against it. Just the same this thing committed crime number one he stole his mothers guns, crime number two he murdered his mother, then he committed crimes numbers three through twentyeight. He didn't give a damn about the law, and a dozen or five hundred more laws would have made no difference what so ever. So we share the grief of the families of those children and the adults who tried to save them, we mourn and do what we can to make this world a better place. We must never forget. As to the coward who committed this cowardly act; take him to the landfill and cover him up with the rest of the gargage. REMBER when our guns are outlawed only the outlaws will have them. You want mine, you'll have to take them one bullet at a time.

He stole them from his mother?

I have not been paying attention to the propaganda on TV.

I had not heard this.

What was a school teacher doing with those kinds of weapons?

she was not a teacher as first reported. two handguns and an AR 15. why would it be unusual for a person to own one or all of them? my doctor owns one. my son owns one. his wife has one. they are primarily for target practice or varmit hunting. good pig guns. also, good home defense guns with proper training. you don't tell a person what type of car they drive, or how big or fast it can be. more kids die each year in swimming pools but we are not talking about outlawing water deeper than two feet.
this person was mentally deranged. he was also looking for easy targets--how about a gun-free zone full of women and children?

Ummm... I did not say it would be unusual for a person to own them... I said it would be unusual for a teacher to own them.

I used to carry two fully loaded AR-15's with two 250 round drums ready to go in the trunk of my car.

As to her not being a teacher, I think she was a substitute teacher, she was said to be a gun collecter and an avid target shooter. Whatever the reason for her having these guns is not important. He stole them from her and had he not stolen from her he would have stolen them from someone else. Gun-free zone? Only to law abiding citizens. To this piece of garbage a safe place to do this heinous and cowardly act.

Keep on thinking that your right to bear arms, buy and sell guns will stay the same. Let us know what guns you do have so they can be recycled. The NRAhas been too silent and there is a growing opposition with anything goes mentality.
