I am really liking what Brian Gayer had to say in the newspaper. It sounds like the citizens need a change. Please read all the facts before you vote. I am going to vote for Brian Gayer.

I am a fan of Brian Gayer 100%! I love all of the issues he is taking on. Weatherford has been under a Mike Brown/Police force Tyranny for some time now. The sales tax in Weatherford is among the highest in the nation!!! The current total local sales tax rate in Weatherford, OK (Oklahoma) is 9.500%. California (9.08%) How does that even make sense? I say We get rid of Mike Brown and the wastefull spending that comes Him!

Are you KIDDING us? I think you should do the same with Mike Browns name...Weatherford is wayyyy tired of dealing with a "FIRST BAPTISTOCRACY"!!!!! Does anyone remember when the First Baptist Church(Mayor Mike Brown and First Baptist decision maker Joe Riddley) Tried to get the Weatherford tax payer to build a new piece of the FBCW parking lot? That should be a charge on Mike Browns record but it's not...don't act like Mike isn't involved in corruption and greed. BRIAN GAYER FOR MAYOR!!!!!!!!!! You can't hold down a town and not expect action!!!!!!!! BRIAN GAYER FOR MAYOR!!!!!!! Wouldn't be a bad idea to fit all of our "cops" with 1988 cruisers...haha

You should all get a grip. He has no chance. I no longer live in Weatherford, but did for over 20 years. Grew up and graduated from High School and SWOSU. I shopped at his store, or tried to anyway with his high prices. Yes check ODCR. How many lawsuits for financial suits can someone have not to mention a felony. Is this the person you want running your city. I have many friends still there in Weatherford. I was back recently for a reunion and was stopped by a Weatherford Officer just as I was many times in High School and College. The officer was very polite and courtious towards me and my wife. I have never had nothing but good experience with the officers at any time. So Im not sure where the tyranny comes from in the above comment. My parents still live in Weatherford and have also had nothing but good experience with Weatherford PD, and like the job Mike Brown is doing and attends Church with him. SIve been to Brian Gayers Mayor Facebook page and can't figure out why he is so against the City. The people complining about the PD probably should look at why they had a negative experience. How about not breaking the law. You all have the right to vote for who you want for Mayor. Just do your homework before you vote.

If you bothered to check the facts you would find the charges against Brian Gayer were trumped up in the first place to discredit him in the Mayors race. It was a private family affair that has nothing to do with the public or his abilities to be Mayor. If you don't even live here, then you really don't know what has been doing on. And why were you stopped? Cause you were breaking the law? This town has become a police state and people cannot even stop at McDonalds to wait for the restaurant to open in the morning so they can feed their kids and get back on the road traveling without the cops stopping them to ask what they are doing. They say it was a suspicious vehicle. What is odd about stopping int he parking lot of McDonalds? Nothing! Vote for Brian Gayer, I am cause he is real and doesn't owe the good ole boys system anything. Your parents only see him in church and we all know how that is! If you don't go to church you are branded a heathen! Vote for Brian Gayer to make some much needed changes here!

Yes I do not live here anymore, but I subscribe to the paper online so I kow the family affair you are speaking of. That was not what I am referrring to at all. The felony was for a False and Bogus check. I was breaking the law. I was speeding through the College area and deserved to get stopped. As for the McDonald's issue I am not familier with it. Unless you yourself are a police officer then you do not understand how police work. I know I don't because I am not trained like they are to deal with things in this day and age. What if a police officer checks on somebody in a parking lot of a closed business they see as suspicious. YOu say they were waiting for it to open so it was closed. What if the person was planning to follow an employee in the store to rob it or was planning on waiting for it to get busy to conduct a mass shooting. If that officer stops that kind of potential crime is he a bully? or hero? Weatherford sits on I40 and all kinds of people travel by and through Weatherford on a daily basis and not just during business hours. So until we are police we dont' understand their mentality. For instance if the cops in Aurora had casually stopped or made contat with the shooter before he entered the theater and he had left instead of shooting everybody is he a hero or a bully? I respect your opinions, but do not agree as Im sure you do not agree with me. I will agree on the church issue and how some are hypocrites.

Usually people don't stop to rob a store first thing in the morning before a business opens cause it doesn't have any money then. Usually people don't stop to rob a McDonalds with their kids either. I suggest the police use a little common sense when stopping "suspicious people". According to W'ford police, anyone stopped is "suspicious". Really? I would think the comparison to that and the shooting at Aurora is ridiculous. W'ford Police get 3 weeks of training and I don't think that makes them a police officer at all. Most of them are really young, in their early twenties and they don't have any common sense.

Should police only be prepared for what "usually" happens? If thats the case then they shouldn't carry firearms cause there "usually" are not shootings in Weatherford America. You might want to check how long cleet training is, little longer than 3 weeks "usually!"

CLEET Trainig is 16 weeks plus over 2 months of training by the PD. I called ands asked before I posted so I wouldn't seem like I was just putting facts out there. 16 weeks Yep longer than 3 weeks. Yeah "usually" dont rob stores but it happens. YOu also totally missed the point about Aurora. Simply stopping to say hello to someone can prevent crime by simply being present. Thaks liberty for backing up the Police.

You all are completely missing the point and I see why as you don't even live here anymore. I do. No one can even drive through town or stop anywhere without being viewed as suspicious by the police and stopped for no valid reason. I know lots of people who have even quit going through town after 6 or 7 pm cause they know how it is and they don't need the hassle.

Have you been stopped? were you given a reason? Are these people getting stopped for traffic violations? One thing I have learned is what you see as a valid reason and the law sees as a valid reason are two different things. Sounds like nobody has valid reasons or they would have filed formal complaints or lawsuits for illegal stops. Im betting the people think they are above the law or to good to be stopped. Weatherford is not the quite little community it once was and times and methods of policing have changed. If you see a problem and have a particular incident or your friends have a particular incident I encourage you to file a complaint or speak with the Chief of Police. All the polce cars here in MD hve camera and the officersa have microphones so it shoudl be recorded if the cars in Weatherford are equipped.

Well I drive down Main all the time, sometimes late at night and haven't been pulled over ever! Every time I see officers they are just driving, I rarely see them pull anyone over.

Anyone read the letter to the editor today in the Weatherford Daily News? Lovely police officers we have here in our great town. NOT!!!!!!!!!! Of course, nothing will be done about it. I'm almost certain of that.
