Mr. Tompkins has been a good commissioner and has done a lot for the people of custer county. All this negative publicity put forth by someone running against him in the election is just because he ran against him once and couldn't beat him so he resorts to negativity and false claims. The ethic board already voted that Mr. Tompkins was eligible to run for commissioner and the allegations were false. But instead of trying to beat Mr. Tompkins fair and square you have Mr. Hamburger trying to appeal the ethics boards decision and false allegations yet again. Kurt if you can not beat him fairly take it like a man because if you can't win fairly then is that the kind of man we want as a commissioner? I know when it comes to politics some people loose all common decency and resort to false accusations and play dirty. I for one don't want someone who would resort to that as my commissioner. Mr. Tompkins has been a loyal commissioner and done a lot of good things for the people of custer county. I just hope with all this negativity people can still see who is the right person for the job.

I think that Steve Tompkins is more than qualified to be County Commissioner. If he is the best man for the job than that is what is most important to me. I voted for him years ago because of his experience with the county and I am proud of my choice. I hope that he can continue to keep his position and concentrate on needed issues concerning our county and not technicalities.

Mary I agree so much. Steve has done a great job and he really cares about the county. I hope he continues to keep his position. I just wish he didn't have to deal with trying to justify himself just because someone is a sore looser and knows that the only way he can beat Steve is if Steve doesn't run against him. I hate to see the stuff that keeps coming out in the paper and all mudslinging just because its election time.I know Steve has a lot of supporters in the county just hate all the stress an election brings.

Are you kidding me? He needs to be removed because the laws state in Oklahoma that he has to be a resident of Custer County in order to be on the Commission and he clearly is not a resident of Custer County. He lives in Foss, not Weatherford and Kurt Hamburger proved that beyond a shadow of a doubt. Talk about political corruption, it is even at the County Commission level as it is still in the Custer Co Sherriff office and the W'ford Police Dept. The city attorney, David Duncan, said his water records were not public and it is a public record as the Oklahoma County Attorney said it was the law. Don't you know the laws? Look them up. Why should we bypass the laws just for Steve when anyone can do a better job than he has done. They are all corrupt with power and influence and need to be gone. Lets elect someone like Kurt who will follow the law and does live in Custer County. If this law is bypassed, what other laws are also bypassed?

It's been a while since the last election for County Commissioner but I thought he had been working for Custer County for 20 years or more. If that's true then what does it matter that he doesn't stay in Custer County every night? There are many that commute from where they live cause there are no jobs available in their home town. He is a resident of Weatherford as well as his home town. That's good enough for me. I like Steve Tompkins. He knows first hand what is good for Custer County through many years of experience. He is a good man. Embrace the facts and move on. His opponent has plenty of strengths that he can use on other hopeful positions. Find a different dead horse to beat.

If Kurt could prove beyond a shadow of doubt then the ethics board or the appeals court would have ruled for Kurt. Steve lives in Weatherford not Foss the farm at Foss belongs to his wife not him check the public record the farm has been in Mrs Tompkins family for 80 years. Also if Kurt wants to talk about bypassing the law then maybe we should check the ethics commission report Kurt bypassed the law himself when he ran the first time with illegal campaign contributions maybe that is why he didn't run in 2009. You didn't see Steve raise cain or badmouthing Kurt or pushing the issue. "He who hath no sin caste the first stone"

I Agree 100% All People Have Skeletons In Their Closet But The issue Is Who Has The Most Experience For The Job In Question. Kurt Has NO Experience Except Sitting on His Fat Keaster At H&H Salvage Along Way From Being A County Commissioner.

You all are completely missing the issue. What is at stake are the very fundamentals of the law. Which law do you want them to ignore and which ones do you want to enforce? Kurt proved that Steve's residence in Weatherford belongs to his Mother and the water bill is irrigation only as no one actually lives there. His drivers license address states Foss, he pays taxes in Washita County. HE DOESN'T EVEN PAY TAXES IN WEATHERFORD. He does not live in Custer County and the law states he has to. The only way he is still on the board is that Jerri Zitterkob was pressured to vote him in by her so called lawyers. Why? Cause of the Good Old Boy system we have here in Custer County and he needs to do the right thing and resign. He has been in power there too long. Actually, they all need to go, including Jerri Zitterkob. After awhile they all are corrupt with the power and influence welded.

Since Kurt can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that explains why he is stalking Mrs. Tompkins and her children by parking in front of her home and farm in Washita county. People don't pay taxes if they do not own property in that county and Mr. Tompkins doesn't Mrs. Tompkins does.Yes the house in weatherford belongs to his mother he moved in to take care of his mother when she was ill and her rental properties in exchange she countinued to pay all bills the water situation was a mistake when they put the rental property on irrigation Mr Tompkins does not see the bill so therefore he did not know of the mistake but it has been corrected. Bottom line is Mr. Hamburger thinks the only way to beat Mr. Tompkins was to get him kicked off the ballot. At least the people have a choice now instead of having someone crammed down there throat.

I've lived in Weatherford all my life and I've seen alot of things bad and good and if anyone knows Kurt Hamburger they know that he would never make a good county commissioner for Custer County. Hamburger would not take care of the residents of Custer County as well as Tompkins has for all these years!!

I don't know much about this whole thing, BUT I do know that the court didn't think that Kurt proved anything or they would have sided with him. He just needs to go on!
