SWOSU: African-American Athletes in the 70's

Does anyone remember some of the football players recruited to SWOSU in the 70's & how they assimilated into the overall campus environment (positively or negatively)? The 70's were a difficult time for many schools in the race relations arena, but many athletes (especially football players) overcame many obstacles like their home environments or negative peer pressures to become standup citizens in their respective fields of interest.
I'm wondering whether some went on after college to become coaches in Oklahoma or businessmen or something else.

I played football from 1971-1974 st Southwestern under OT Delaporte and race was never an issue. Charles Hicks, Hugh Montes,Jo Dean Shegag alone with a black asst coach. We never thought of the race issue. I was just 17-21 year olds playing a game they love. Also the basketball team had blacks a well. Those were trying times else were, but weaterford rose above it
