I think it's fantastic they are doing this!!!!! They are taking everything they can and it's sickning and time we as Americans stand up for our rights. Personally I don't care if government needs more tax revenue....budget like the rest of us do. If I blow mine I don't have the right to rob my neighbor to make up the difference. Eminent domain is just a fancy term for stealing.

I went to the meeting yesterday. The meeting reiterated our heritage of freedom, including retained rights which were not given by consent to the government. A good, truthful account of the history of our states was given.

The issue is a vastly deep one affecting those who have families and who enjoy living in the homes they have worked for. Handing down property from generation to generation is not to be counted on under the Kelo decision. The US Supreme Court continues to dilute the meaning of "public use" to the point where in the past couple of years it has come to include "economic use". This is the key to the decision.

The decision describes that a shopping mall will create jobs, taxes and other benefits to the community. This means that a person is forced to use his or her property to the maximum of its economic benefit in order to retain it -- yet a big corporation can still fight two or more property owners and obviously create a use that brings more tax dollars to the government than each homeowner individually.

As we stated in the Kelo dissents, this decisions allows the $big guys to TAKE what the $little guys have. What they have worked hard for, sometimes all their lives. This decision is the beginning of the end of private ownership of property. Beware and please join this effort in any way you feel is proper. Thank you.

Hello, Lawyer...I completely support your comments and wish I could have participated in the Clements effort ultimately to seize Justice Souter's house and replace it with a nice big fat job-producing, taxpaying hotel. It's a brilliant move. I'm only amazed that so few of my acquaintance (and I know a lot of very educated and savvy people) are as outraged as I am at this decision. I've been following this story since before the decision, and I am absolutely appalled that so little editorial press was given to this decision. Most people think I'm crazy when I tell them what has happened...in language not unlike your own.

It's pretty pathetic when average americans know the constitution better than supreme court justices!(See fifth amendment where it says: imminent domain for PUBLIC use.)Since all the pro-justices were left-leaning it tells me this is another example fitting some mindless "Liberal" agenda. I swear these fiends are being driven by forces from hell! Ross Perot was right. We need a third party. The democrats have abandoned us for a blind grab for power and money. Power for power's sake. Idol worshippers!

Where does Ginsberg live (she looks like a bag lady)? I heard her house is so overgrown with weeds and in such disrepair that they want the property condemned because of all the rats it attracts.

You liberals need to clean up yer yards.

Both Souter and Ginsberg live in dumps.

Filthy, stinking dumpholes.

The "moronic american" speaks. You have said nothing that adds anything to this conversation. It's not about the yard, go educate yourself and come back to the discussion.

NO ONE KNOWS HOW THIS FEELS TILL IT ACTUALLY HAPPENS TO YOU. THEN YOU UNDERSTAND HOW VERY WRONG IT IS.
MORE OFFICIALS SHOULD, HAVE TO EXPERIENCE WHAT THEY PROPOSE FOR THE AVERAGE AMERICAN. MAYBE THEY WOULD THINK!!!

I drove a considerable distance ot attend the meeting. I was pleased that folks are sincere and plan to move forward.

If you know registered voters in Weare, tell them to attend Feb. 4th Deliberative Session to preserve language of the warrant.

Since Congress did not reverse the Court's ruling it is up to the individual states to protect people's homes.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Leo

There's an erratic quality to the day, thanks to the Full Moon in emotional Cancer, combined with a lunar eclipse. Loved ones are likely to behave in ways you hadn't counted on. The only way to cope with this is to be as flexible as possible. Someone might change an arrangement at the eleventh hour so you have to think on your feet, or others may be determined to do their own thing even though it doesn't suit you. Get any arguments out of the way quickly so you can enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations with a glad heart.
