Full story: TwinCities.com

A group of Minnesota business leaders is calling on state lawmakers to expand a rating system for preschools and child-care providers and to increase early-learning scholarships so low-income families can send their children to quality programs.

The children can learn their ABC's and how to count to one hundred at home not on the dole. We are out of money.

i am all for spending money on education, but if a family has a low income and can't afford to spend money on their childs education, don't have fricken kids....if you can't afford it, you don't need, it is a philosophy more people need to live by.

So now the Federal Reserve are experts in Education funding? Really..

Notice that all the Groups that want this are the ones that will get payed for this.

I want lottery tickets to pay out 100%, Groups have studied that if Lotto tickets payed out 100% everyone in America would have Health Care and a New Car and also will stay out of Jail !!!!!

It's a catch-22 people. Either pay for these kids now, or pay for them as adults in prison. Either way, the result of careless procreation on the part of those who shouldn't be is going to cost us.

No, no, no...nobody cares about the kids of families that support themselves. You have to be a leech to get things handed to you.

Why?

If you subscribe to that theory, then you are stating that certain cultures/races are predisposed to criminal behavior. Isn't that just a wee bit racist?

I am not. I asked an honest question regarding what you wrote.

Tell me why I will have to pay for them now, or pay for them in prison then. And just who is "them"?

I have an idea, why don't the people behind Minnesota Early Learning Foundation put THEIR money where their mouth is? Progressive's always have what they consider "good ideas", but in reality they just like to spend other people's money. Ask a liberal how much is enough. You get only 3 answers - "more", "all of it", or "100%". I never met a progressive that wouldn't be happy to give you the shirt right off someone else's back.

It seems bobxray does not want to answer the question, as he knows the answer already. The Left can only attack the messenger, and try to silence the message.

For most of my life I've donated to charities and been a taxpayer.

If I believed for a minute that my contributions would make a difference I'd still be giving. But all I've seen is increasing poverty and lawless behavior. Money and education don't automatically make for a good citizen. You need a solid home life as well or the chances are against you. It also wouldn't hurt to teach citizenship in the schools.

And the states that give the most end up with the highest population of needy. They keep coming.

Whatever we've been doing for the last forty years isn't working, folks.
