I don't see why the U of M football stadium should be named TCF Bank stadium when the government is bailing out TCF bank. Sure the president of TCF paid it back, but it looks like it took awhile to pay it back. The president of TCF Bank is also a huge supporter, huge supporter, of the group that called themselves Swiftboat veterans, a group that wasn't all veterans of the Viet Nam war, and most of them were never on a Swiftboat. The TCF president sure took the money fast and at the same time enjoyed all the advertising for his bank at tax payer expense. The undeniable fact is he took public money and got the stadium named after his bank. That is wrong! This is a stadium for all of us, not for the political hack who runs TCF Bank! Take TCF off the name of the stadium. He didn't want the pay restrictions on his exorbinant salary, so he paid it back.

What am I missing here? TCF got the bail out money and paid it all back. Why would the government be holding warrants, and then selling them, if TCF had repaid all of the money?

Because the warrants are what the government RECEIVED from TCF Bank. If you would have READ the article, you would have known that IrishMN.

TCF did not want to take TARP money in the first place, and it didn't need it. The government pressured TCF and other good banks to take TARP money so that the public wouldn't know who were the strong banks and who were the weak banks (thus avoiding a run on the weak banks).

Our government is corrupt.

now if only i had a way to buy a couple of those warrants. I wouldn't be able to afford many, but it would be interesting to be able to possibly profit from the banks, given how much they're profiting off of us.

TCF is like the low income bank, they have terrible fees and basically try to milk you like your a friggan cow squirting .50 cent pieces out of your udder. And Bill Cooper is a dumb, aggressive pig. I'm an athiest but I guarantee I'm more of a Christian than this wrinkled old pig.

As everyone here knows, I am no fan of Bill Cooper. However, you are throwing stones when you really ought to just sit down and shut up.

Mr. Cooper is the founder of Providence Acadamy and has poured his heart & soul into establishing this as a magnificent Catholic High School.

You can complain all you want about how TCF treats people with bad credit, and unstable account balances. Most of the time, those that are hit with these charges deserve them, don't they? If your checking account is empty, don't write a check against the account. Simple, huh?

But Mr. Cooper is very much a quality man who devoted years and years into providing a great learning institution for our children. Anyone who says anything different is lying or a just plain stupid.
