Isn't that just great? another 35 jobs for Huntsville! What they fail to mention is that these 35 "New" jobs are coming at the expense of a loss of over 100 Jobs, and the complete closure of a plant in Cambridge, Ontario Canada, where the majority of the equipment for this "expansion" is coming from.

I especially like this quote of Art Haag from another article......

"it allows us to expand our operations so that we’re able to successfully meet growing demand in the marketplace"

Since "softening sales" was a prime reason cited for the closure of the Cambridge facility! And the part about "we chose Waynesville for expansion because of it's tenured workers" When the Cambridge facility has been around the longest, and has by far the most "tenured" employees of all the old associated packaging plants.

So by Sonoco math .....35 jobs added - 100 Jobs lost = "Expansion" Ya enjoy your jobs while you have them Waynesville! Just don't expect any sympathy when they deem one of YOUR facilities "inefficient" and decide to expand in the next area willing to cut them an even bigger check.

Hahaha oh wow it's so funny reading this now a year later. Where are you now Art Hagg? You closed the plant that was the heart and soul of operations at APT and now the Waynesville plant is an utter disaster. Guess maybe you SHOULD have thought a little bit more about how you were going to "fill that plant with personnel." along with how screwing everything up would drive the few decent workers you did have there out the door. Even rednecks won't work in a shithole. Good job buddy go crawl back in your hole at clearpak and stick to totally mismanaging that operation. It appears to be what you are best at.

My god... Year after year it just gets better. Welcome to the unemployment line Mr Hagg! Just don't expect any of the people who you cost their jobs to hold a place for you!
And good luck filling out that resume with all your career accomplishments... Be sure you include the part about taking a 150 million dollar a year, multinational company, and running it into the ground in less that 3 years.... That takes talent!
