Doug Tillet needs to fix the main road that we can access into shalom mountain. As residents, we all pay a fee for road maintenance. Yet, that road is falling apart. I regret having moved into Shalom Mountain. Doug is failing the residents by not fixing the only road we use to access Shalom Mountain. If you are considering buying here, DON'T!

I 1000% agree with you Jim, I wish ol tillet would fix your road properly other than trying to force a road across my parent's front yard.

My folks were nice enough to let folks from Shalom mtn & northern heights come across their front yard during this last flood and they have been thanked by some a-hole running his truck down the runway and cutting ruts and then flippin my folks the bird.

This is something they didn't have to do and that I had advised them NOT to do after the same crap happened in 08, I don't think they will ever let residents from over there across the property ever again.

Ol d-bag has been trying for almost 10 years now to force / steal the land for a road from my parents.

If you all wanna file a lawsuit against him for his BS and to force HIM to fix YOUR road and keep him off our land, let me know , I don't have much in resources but I will do ANYTHING I can to help.

You just don't get it. But then again, neither of you were at the bottom of the hill, towing people out of the snow, and trying to keep from having some of those stranded cars hit by passing traffic. Did I mention the ambulance stuck in the snow? Thank goodness it wasn't YOU who needed it. How selfish can they be? Don't worry about working together, especially since we all live up on that mountain together. By the way....the main road (Longview) the county is responsible for. And next time your parents are forced (by court order) to open "their" road because of an emergency, they better keep their guns inside. It gives real down home country people a bad name.

You people need to get this idea out of your heads. Mr. Taylor doesn't owe anyone anything. Did he force you to make a dumb decision to buy a house on top of a bluff? NO! Why should he have to give up the land he BOUGHT because you weren't smart? That's the real issue here.

When has this become Mr. Taylors fault that you bought a house on top of a bluff? You're right... IT'S NOT! He should not have to give up his rights to the land HE bought because you bought a house that can only be accessed when it is 75 degrees and sunny. Come on people.

Resident, it's not just longview that is falling apart. All of the roads in Shalom Mountain are crumbling and I see NO WORK whatsoeveer being done on them. What the heck is Doug Tillet doing with the property fees every resident pays each month? This needs to be looked into. Again, I reiterate, if you are looking to buy in Shalom Mountain, don't do it unless and until they fix the roads.

Jim, I agree, the roads are terrible. But the property fees you speak of do not go to Doug Tillet. My property fees go to the Pulaski County Assessor. As for Really, it was a county road years ago and because no-one lived up on the mountain, Taylor took it over. Normally, there is an easement agreement. Prove that it was not a county road to begin with (MANY years ago) and I will support him. After serving over 20 years in the military, I think imminent domain is a crock, and if it is truly someone's property then the man deserves to keep it. As for J Taylor, quit spouting off "that's my dad" philosophy and back your words with solid proof. Kind enough to open the road? It was a court order. Flip the bird? As for me, I waved my hand, he waved his rifle. And THAT is the other side of the story.

Resident 1st off you can go F@#$ YOUR SELF with a rusty knife you were the dumb turd that bought a house with only 1 road in and out. Guess ya better buy a boat or a helicopter if ya want out next time.
2nd there was never a court order issued to open the road for you all . The county commission called him and asked ( not ordered ) and he was nice enough to open it. This will NOT happen ever again.
3rd my Dad wasn't the one with the rifle it was my Mom and your damn lucky she didn't blow your head off.
4th I don't give 2 shits or a damn if you were born into the military it doesn't give you any special rights like you all seem to think it does, you were not drafted you chose that job ( most likely because you couldn't cut it in the private sector)

There is no need to use the language you just used. Secondly, there is no need to insult the military like you did in your last paragraph, many fine men and women in uniform pay taxes, support local businesses, volunteer in the community - let's not speak so rudely of them. The land is owned by a private family, okay. The work needs to start with the residents of Shalom Mountain, start going to the council meetings talk to the councilman of your ward and then find out what you need to do. Let your voices be heard, do not attack each other it doesn't help either side.

Well, it happens again... We are stuck. Flooded into a trap of our own homes we purchased not knowing there was only 1 entrance/exit and flood issues...it's not something They like trying to tell you when you buy a house. My problem is this..if I can't get to work my family can't eat. A dispute over a road seems petty to you because you aren't the one who is trapped. I have a heart condition and God forbid I needed help... I am getting ready to sell this house but the ever so lovely money grubbing Doug Tillet keeps putting up new houses making my sell next to impossible. Let us not leave out that we pay $70 a month homeowners dues for water/road maintenance and when he decided to pave our road ONLY BECAUSE HE HAS ABOUT 10 new residents in brand new houses he came and asked each of us to pay $2,000.00. Sounds like I've already paid that in road maintenance fees over the past almost 5 years I've lived here and driven through pot hole infested roads. Bottom line is dont buy a house here and We need another outlet. PLEASE.

The language is plenty rude and after 15 plus years of my family putting up with this crap from Tillett and his flunkies I really don't have words foul enough to describe him and his kind. As for the military I am sure their are a few that aren't rude but almost everyone of them I had to deal with when I lived up their were just awful and looking for a hand out for a job they chose to take, not drafted or forced and gun point. If you wanna build em a road buy some land from one of the other developers up on the hill and build a road, but don't you try to thieve away the land my parents worked all their damn lives to buy and build his little dream runway on because YOU screwed up and bought a house with 1 piss poor road.
