My Uncle lived there in the 80's. I was only there once, visiting, but remember it being just about the coolest place I had ever seen at the time. I remember the ballroom and I seem to remember a lot of cats and a dog, too. I remember roller skating around the ballroom and taking walks around the area with the rest of my family. Too bad it burned down, I would love to have been able to go back an visit some day

It is nice to see all of this interest in Pippin Place. I am Nancy Pippin's son, Dru L. Pippin's grandson, Dru M. Pippin's first cousin and William Eckert's cousin. I was fortunate enough to have been there many times before it closed in 8/62 when my grandmother, Eva Pippin, died. I have my mother's photos and records, including the guest book. Tom Goez was kind enough to share some photos his family had taken on their trips to PP. I would like to get copies of pics that any other guests have and are willing to share. It was a special place. My email is [email protected] if anyone wants to contact me directly.

Hi Ralph!

Haven't spoken with you in a long time. How are you doing?

I started a little Facebook group relating to Pippin Place. It's shown in a post three up from this one. If you are on Facebook, check in.

My email has changed as I've had a falling out with AT&T. It is tom.goez at the same gmail place you have.

Bill Eckert wrote me and said that Pippin Place has been repurchased by the Laughlin's. Wow! Maybe we can get access once again?

Keep in touch, and hope to hear from you soon.

My grandfather built Pippin Place. It was run by my aunt and uncle, Dru L. Pippin and Eva Pippin. I have lots of photos, including the old post cards that documented it. The famous cook they had was John Branham. The farm part was run by Arthur Lankford. The handiman, who many of us remember well, was Louis Speckman. Be happy to provide digitized photos and info to anyone interested.
I worked for Dru and Eva several summers in the mid 50's at first when my parents were there vacationing and later when Eva offered me a job. With my parent's permission, I worked June to September in the kitchen helping John as he became debilidtated. What wonderful memories I have to this day of Pippin Place. I was saddened to see the burned out remains on the YouTube video but remember the steps, the handrails that I swept twice daily, the video room, Dru listening to ball games on the radio. I would really enjoy any pictures that you might have that you are willing to share. Might you have any of John, Arthur, Louie and, of course, your grandparents. You can reach me at [email protected]

Hi, Tom. I can remember vacationing at Pippins in the 1950s. I believe you were there with your parents. I can remember the two of us playing pin ball in the rec. hall at night. Thanks for the memories.5824

Dose anyone have pictures of hill pippin
There are no pictures of Hill Pippin, his wife, nor of his children that I have ever heard of, although there possibly could be one of his daughter Louisa Matilda Jane Eidson. His son (my great-grandfather) William Carroll Pippin lived in Pulaski County, MO.

Joyceann,

I have several pictures of Pippins but none for Hill. If you have any information on Hill would love it if you would share.
