If somebody tried to burn your house down would you want the jury to hear about all the other things that the defendant burned down??

It's starting to look like repeat felons have been turned into "relief acts" for local bar associations.

Change your name to "no thinking".

If your family had been in a church fire you would be the first to demand justice.

So in all of your free-thinkng glory, you reason that a man who broke the law should have gotten 1 day for trying to cause harm and vandalize property. But those people minding their own business and practicing love thy neighbor deserve to get their church burned down, and you justify that by blaming theocracy? That's completely logical. <giggle> Whoops! That slipped out...really. It did.

This fellow did not learn a thing from his 1st stay in jail. In about 8 years he will be trying to burn or blow up something else.

Notice to jail staff: he's going to start a fire in his cell...he can't help himself.

That empty Cupp needs to be set ablaze AND that might cool off his desire to set fires. And yes, he will "make the news" again.
P.S."thinking free" you sir or madam have a twisted way of "thinking" and I figure you would deny God at least three times and BOO should a party platform "oops" be brought into the light and quickly amended to "save face"...oh, and v o t e s.

Dear Those of you who feel compelled to comment:

A) the church did not burn down ... a bush was on fire ... the building was not damaged.

B)Several teen agers had been getting in trouble for starting small fires in the trailer park where cupp lived.

C)THERE WAS NO DNA EVIDENCE linking Cupp to the crime, and the only witness testimony was shoty, and CHANGED multiple times.

D) You cannot charge a person based on their past. Paul Cupp has a history, he isn't a great guy, don't let your daughters date him. But really ... Dont put him in jail for things he didnt do. He never has been one to start a small fire ... I can almost say with certainty I know he didn't do this... not because I can prove it ... but because I know he wouldn't burn a bush ...

E) EVERYONE has rags, gas and drink bottles in their home, this is NOT evidence that you are an arsonist!

EVERYONE does not have all those things in their home. I have some rags, but not red shop rags in my home, but I do not have gas or drink bottles in my home. I have gas in my car, but not in a can. Many people don't even have a car, so they don't even have gas in a car.

You make the same argument that some people made about the racing on Garth Road which ended in death; claiming that EVERYBODY flies on Garth road, so no one should be charged if racing at 70 MPH results in death. That justification just doesn't fly.

Besides, even if EVERYONE is breaking a law, if you are the one to get caught you will be prosecuted.

The gas was not found IN his home, it was found in his building... Right beside his lawn mower .... and his shop rags! The gator aide bottles were found in his fridge and trash ... My sons play baseball... we have the same bottles in our trash ... I have a yard... hence a lawnmower ... hence a gas can full of gas ... I suppose I look like an arsonist as well.
EVERYONE with a yard, a building, a mower, has a darn gas can...
and FYI the Cupp family owns machine shops.... I am guessing they all have shop rags in their buildings!

I have 2 or 3 gas cans. I have lots of plastic bottles. I have red rags and white rags. Maybe I need a 12 step program for fire starters anonymous.

Wake up people- if you actually believe everything you hear and read from our 'news' sources, and you really do think our judicial system works even 50% of the time.... then the Tooth Fairy says- Hello and she has missed you.
