I can understand that. Any judge or jury is in a damned if you do, damned if you don't position. If you go along with this horror show and mistreat that poor man for his good dead, then you are guilty of a miscarriage of justice and bad treatment of a fellow human being. If don't, the gays and lesbians are going to bully you so badly that they'll make your life a living hell. The only good news in this story is that Lisa Miller and her daughter are safely out of country. Janet Jenkins should have given this up years ago.

This man violated the law and did nothing good but cause a parent to not have access to her child.......regardless of whether you agree or not!!!

Lisa Miller is a FUGITIVE and this man broke the law when he helped her leave this Country......and you wouldn't be so okay with it if he had helped a mother take her child away from the legal father, now would you?

Oh and it would be DEED, not dead!!!

If you were a parent.....would you give up? Lisa Miller will be found and someday will have to answer for your crime.......and hopefully Isabella learns the truth and can find a way to have a relationship with Janet Jenkins, her LEGAL PARENT!!

Well in your case that would be true - no one wants you near children in any capacity.

Aiding the abduction of a child - and the Supreme Courts of two different states agreed that this is the fact pattern - is a very serious crime.

I bet he won't get jail time, though,'cos he's "religious." Jesus told the criminal in question that he could break the law....

You're right. It is a typo. You've never made a typo? Janet Jenkins is not the mother of Isabella. She is not a biological relative. This is just an activist court case trying to hammer home to the American public about gay rights. This whole thing is ridiculous, and an innocent man is suffering for it. Go with God, Lisa and Isabella.

Actually Janet Jenkins is the LEGAL PARENT of Isabella.......confirmed by the court systems in both Vermont and Virginia!!!

Lisa Miller is a fugitive and a liar.......she may be the biological mother, but the child carries both names on her birth certificate!!!

This man, broke the law and should face the consequences of his actions!!!

Again I ask, why are these antigay cretins lurking on this site? If they're closeted, they should just come out. If they're really straight, they should go play in their own sandbox. And if these are kids—as the language, syntax, grammar and I'll-formed thoughts suggest—they should be punished and sent to bed without dessert or access to their computers and other devices. They are not contributing in any positive way to the debate and their moronic comments have become wearisome and boring.

Jenkins is a legal parent. Both millers are criminals. The woman broke several requirements of the custody orders because she didn't like them. The preacher enabled a kidnapping, nothing less. And now that child is in some third-world hellhole.

So I guess any "non-biological parent" doesn't matter legally in your warped world? I'm sure there are thousands of adoptive parents, step parents, etc., that would disagree with you. Gay or straight.

The courts in VA and VT have done nothing more than carry out what is and has been the law for generations. This is FAMILY law and only has anything to do with LGBT people because both parents are lesbians. These two courts have done NOTHING differently than they have when the parents were heterosexual.

It's FAR from ridiculous. This "man of god" broke the law and tore a child away from her mother. This "man of god" has been harboring a fugitive from the law for years. This "man of god" is FAR from innocent. He is a disgrace to his religion and other religious leaders.

And finally, I'm sure your god is not with those that break the law. S/He has more sense.

The "obey the civil law" command in the bible is an interesting argument, because the Jews were living under Roman domination in the early 1st Century AD.

Now if one believes that the "obey the civil law" command is an iron law that should always be followed, then the American Revolutionary War, which established our independence, was surely immoral because any violent revolution against the existing lawful government certtainly violates that command. The same can be said of the revolutions of 1989 - 1991 in Europe where communist governments were overthrown (all peacefully except in Romania).

Yet NOBODY would seriously argue that the American Revolution, nor the revolutions in Europe were NOT moral. And honest people can disagree as to which civil laws are moral and just and should be followed, and which civil laws are not moral nor just and should not be followed. Life is complicated.
