You are the stupid one! One of the reasons for this is that is some areas the medications are showing up in the water system!

No wonder you are laughing, you are stoned. In the course of a five-month inquiry, the AP discovered that drugs have been detected in the drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas - from Southern California to Northern New Jersey, from Detroit to Louisville, Ky. Water providers rarely disclose results of pharmaceutical screenings, unless pressed, the AP found. For example, the head of a group representing major California suppliers said the public “doesn’t know how to interpret the information” and might be unduly alarmed.

How do the drugs get into the water? Let the AP tell you…

People take pills. Their bodies absorb some of the medication, but the rest of it passes through and is flushed down the toilet. The wastewater is treated before it is discharged into reservoirs, rivers or lakes. Then, some of the water is cleansed again at drinking water treatment plants and piped to consumers. But most treatments do not remove all drug residue.

And while researchers do not yet understand the exact risks from decades of persistent exposure to random combinations of low levels of pharmaceuticals, recent studies - which have gone virtually unnoticed by the general public - have found alarming effects on human cells and wildlife.

Poop TOO it would seem, drink up!

Looks like "Stupid" in York was aptly named, as was his kissin' cousin "LOL", aka "Lots Of Losers.

"go get um" is simply a sheep, led by his/her own ignorance.

Might I suggest instead of just reading the THREADS that you ignorant, uneducated monkeys spend a moment to read the NEWS, as I find it amazing that anyone old enough to read doesn't already KNOW about this issue.

No wonder many are of the opinion that folks from this area are DUMB...with representatives like you three there is little to wonder about.

Flushing can be bad putting prescription chemicals going into the water supply. Throwing away seperately out of the bottle in your trash can be much safer and much less chance to seep into water supply. You're absolutely correct though, this IS something you can do yourself.

And guard your privacy by REMOVING the pharmacy LABELs before you put in the trash or a give to a program like this. If you voluntarily give one of these collection sites your drugs with the pharmacy label on them you just gave the government personal information, your doctor and pharmacy information for their use ie data collection.

Instead of calling people names & getting angry about a subject that you obviously have NO knowledge about, do a search on the internet & learn that what they are telling you is absolutely true. Water treatment plants do not have the capability to remove medications during the treatment process. It is believed to be one of the reasons for the obvious feminization of males in this country. Women taking birth control & various hormonal medications & those contents being passed into the sewer system through their urine. You don't have to flush meds directly into the system for some of the chemicals to get into the public water supply.
