Weisbrod asked Martin if he remembered a "smoking device" found in Miles's pocket, and whether his client appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants while he was interviewing him.

Seriously a trooper not remembering an important factor in the case as to the possibility of Miles being under the influence of a drug. This can weigh a lot on the mental condition. Lets face it not too many people want to jump off of bridges to GET RID OF THEIR DEMONS. The man is guilty untilll proven innocent(wich we all know he did it), but still deserves a fair trial. Sounds to me like the law enforcement deputies that took Miles into custody want to sweep some important facts under the rug in fear he will get a lighter sentence.

Yes the accused and his defense team are completely "honest and truthfull" and the law enforcement officers are again making things up and changing the facts to ensure the outcome they want. No there isn't "enough" evidence to do that by itself.

If he would have jumped, he could not have led them to the other girl he murdered years ago. This guy is a serial killer and should be put to death for his crimes. The so-called attempted suicide was a joke. Anyone who seriously wants to commit suicide does it without the fanfare.

I hate to see the focus being turned on did the trooper ask the right question...this guy is a lunatic and deserves the death penalty. I know that all this is a legal process, but look how much tax payer money will be used doing it. There is a picture of Miles in Herald Mail today; he has a big toothy smile all over his face-just shows how arrogant he is.

How can Weibod and Toms sleep at night, knowing that they are defending someone who admits to the killing, takes them to the body and seems arrogant and not sorry for what he did.
The may be on the right side of the law but they aren't much up the ladder from this guy in conscience.

Finally...someone that makes some sense with a comment!!! Almost poetic!

Just because he led them to the body and didn't jump doesn't mean it's a waste of taxpayer's money. If he did it, it's a good use of taxpayer's money to seek and carry out the death penalty. The waste of money would be allowing him life in prison. Just because he was a nice guy and didn't jump so that he could show where the body was doesn't excuse his crime.

And whoever said something about the police officer not remembering a pipe...who gives a ratzz arse? It's about a murder, not a piece of paraphernalia.

well Tom T bringing in defense experts at the counties expense is where the waste of money comments come into play.

and the "pipe" could be used to sway the verdict and charges because the defense will use it to their advantage claiming "mental" incoherence.

what is ironic to me is I once met Miles in a bar and he introduced himself as Dahmer...like Jeffrey Dahmer (prob spelled wrong, sorry)...now, at the time, he said this nickname was due to some sexual prowess...but I wonder...

Miles seems to be acting true to form in the court room, by not keeping his mouth shut. I'd hate to have to represent this fruitcake. He'll wind up putting his foot in his mouth when he spouts off.

First of all In my original post I clearly stated we all know he is guilty. But unfortunately scum like this always try to find a way out. IE: I WAS under the influence of drugs and did not know what I was doing. His defence attorney could very well try to play that card and say the officers conveniently forgot the pipe etc. Worse has happened in other trials and the murderers get 40 years or less then end up getting out for good behavior or even better claim they have found God and our tax dollars pay for his so called rehabilitation. I was meerely trying to state it was not good the officers forgot such an important fact. I hope he gets the death penalty then he can meet his maker and let God decide if the lifes choices he made doing drugs was worth saving his a*** up there.
