More reasons to cut the number of legislators in half! Pennsylvania has the most expensive and bloated state government in the nation.

Rep. Keller's office at Hamilton Township was rent-free in 2010. His rent there is to be $1,800 for

There we go again PO. You didn't finish the story...

Look again -$1,800 for 2011. I will watch the letter's to the editor for your apology.....guessing the quick draw commentators like yourself have no "I'm sorry - I was wrong" capabilities though.

I can see room for cuts. Why the need for such large staffs?

These are the guys telling us they are cutting the budget and making tough choices to help us taxpayers. Close all the offices and fire all the assitants, there is no need for those outrageous rents and saleries. None at all. Peroid!

What the hell are you doing? Your big with the money coming in from outside the area and now you spend it very freely by the looks of it. Those are very good earnings for your staff. Far more in comparison to the other legislators listed. You have always liked to live high on the hog along with the women. Still going to West Virginia?
In the printed version of today's PO, it states that one of your capital staff is Kelly Thomas. Any relation to our sitting county commissioner, Robert Thomas? Just curios

Don't worry, the Hamilton Supervisors got something out of this deal if they didn't charge Keller rent in 2010 ... maybe an agreement not to audit the hours & wages the Supervisors tally.

There is no need for more than 1 office for these fat cats. How can they justify cutting education spending when they are paying such exorbitant salaries to their staff?

It would have been very pertinent to the story to include both the physical size of each district and the population served by the senator/representative. I believe Senator Alloway's district has almost 4 times the number of constituents as each of the representatives and several hundred more square miles.

Let me get this straight. One of Alloway's staff makes $103,00 and he makes $78,000. What's up wif dat?

I guess the bloated overpaid assistants do the work and Alloway runs around poses for pictures with oversized checks and ribbon cuttings. They really need to downsize both the staff and salaries. Have they made any sacrifices? I think I can guess the answer to my own question.

And your left wing point is what PO?

Compare to democrats in another county say Philadelphia or Clearfield maybe,,,,, is what?

The contingent assigned last year to Rep. Bud George, D-Clearfield, who has one of the larger House staffs, included seven legislative assistants, two research analysts, an executive director, a communications specialist, an executive assistant and a lawyer. While some have since left the House, they were paid a combined $645,000 last year.

Clearfield County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of 2000, the population was 83,382
Camille Bud George (Democrat)has one office in the county and one at the capital and only serves 'part' of clearfield county!

Franklin county ----
As of the census of 2000, there were 129,313 people

When it's all said and done, Alloway makes a LOT more than $78,000 per annum. These politicians may be a little slippery, but they're not stupid.

let it up to “Party Before Country” Lil John to justify the exuberant spending of local legislators because they have an "R" behind their name.

There was no comparison was there?

Typical left wing gibberish -- even for thus biased paper!
