If Bush or ANY Republican president had even hinted at building new nuclear energy plants the libs would be screaming and tearing their hair. The glorious leader (all bow) does it and the left can't get on board fast enough. What a bunch of flaming hypocrites!

Precisely! If he was serious, he would immediately suspend all environmental roadblocks are charge ahead to energy independence. Oh, wait.... massive job creation, no Middle East oil imports, no need for oil wars...sorry, wtf was I thinking.

Southern Co.'s application for a license to build and operate the reactors is pending with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, one of 13 such applications the agency is considering. The earliest any could be approved would be late 2011 or early 2012, an NRC spokesman said.

8.3 billion for a company that is not licensed and probably won't be for about a year.

Getting right on top of that job creation thing !!!!!!!

the unemployed of the country are getting screwed by obama AGAIN......
