Obama spoke after spending time at the job training center at the headquarters of Local 26 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The union represents electrical and telecommunications workers, and it offers training for energy jobs, including the construction of nuclear power plants.[QUOTE]

The creation of 3,000 construction jobs and permanent employment for 850 people to build and operate the nuclear power plant funding will be funneled directly into union coffers. Even though nuclear energy is cleaner, this may cause the cost of energy to consumers to rise exponentially. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has already set the precedent for hefty taxpayer rate hikes. On the bright side, more people will have jobs.

[QUOTE]Editor's Note: If you read only one story today, I hope it will be this one. The DWP's bloated salaries, poor management and soaring rates are the most glaring example of what's wrong with Los Angeles city government. We think this is so important we've put up the salaries of all 8,500 employees at dailynews.com . See how your pay compares with theirs.-- Ron Kaye, editor

Don't get to excited about obama's 3000 jobs bandwagon.

the Southern co. hasn't even been licensed yet and most likely won't be for a year or more........this is just more of obama's BS.

This is idiotic. The problem is out of control left wing regulations costing the energy industry and rate payers billions a year. Why spend taxpayers dollars where the regulations are the problem.

I'm amazed anyone supports the Obama administration. Everything he touches costs $$$.

Great idea, Barry...let's build the first one right next to the white house...oh, don't worry, it'll be perfectly safe.

Another waste of taxpayer dollars.

Is Obama really Newt Gingrich wearing an Obama mask?
I mean first he says he's going to get us out of Iraq, then escalates the war.
Then he bails out Wall Street.
Now he's going to build Nukes.
What kind of change is this. I am never voting Democratic again. Hell, I might as well become a Republican.

Everyone, please spell check and grammar check your comments before posting. Your mistakes I expect of a 3rd grader. Hint, you can pre-type (compose) as a word document and then spell check your comments that includes grammar structure correction. Then copy and paste into the comment section. E-mails are another poorly structured and mis-spelled communication form. But text messages are the worst of the worst. Thank you.

Good to see that the economic wizards in DC are ready to talk about spending another $8,000,000,000 even though they are overdrawn by about $50,000,000,000,000. These thieves have us on the fast track to economic destruction.

Wake up people, the writing is already on the wall:

"Lone voice warns of debt threat to Fed"

The US must fix its growing debt problems or risk a new financial crisis, Thomas Hoenig, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, warned on Tuesday, adding a mounting deficit could spur inflation.

Ironic that this warning is coming from inside the Fed, considering that the creation of the private Federal Reserve Bank started the economic destruction of America almost 100 years ago, and has given the likes of banksters like Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, and Tax Cheat Tim Geithner. If HR 1207 and S 604 are successfully passed through Congress and the Fed is audited and held accountable for its actions, Americans will see the truth and be ready to hang every person affiliated with this criminal enterprise in the town square.
