If this is true they finally got it right. Both of them are good people and great educators.

It was Lynn Hurt and Clinton Burch, but there will be some issues with the second placement I think. Mr. Sammons was named Director of Transportation

Lynn is well deserving of this position. Clinton sure has moved up fast! Wasnt he picked over several other people who thought they would be a shoe in like Sandy Pertee, Kevin Smith and John Waugemen? Wonder who will be taking Lynns place?

The middle schools in Wayne are no better than the high schools. They should not have promoted within when the whole school system is failing. Nothing will change.

The board finally stood up to Gary Adkins and his click! Poor Gary probably $hit a brick when no body seconded his nomination of Sandy Pertee! Poor poor Gary! He should retire before he gets canned. No body wants him there anyway!

Yep, love those buildings that have already sunk 2 ft and the use of more govt money to pay for the upkeep. I am glad Adkins didn't spend his time on things such as, EDUCATION. I am proud that our drop out rate has increased and our quality of education and curricula has decreased. That is the person you want in a superintentdent job; the ones that are never there.

The man needs to go. He is a disgrace to an already disgraceful educational system, something that has occurred under his reign!

Like you could do better. You probably don't even work. Go to school and get a degree and then voice your opinion. I was taught that if you complain, then offer a solution. What is your solution? You don't have one, you are just like the many others in this small town, you have an opinion and think others want to hear it. Get a life.

Big School? Is that supposed to be an IMPROVEMENT? No thank you! My little 1 room school was nothing short of superb with a wonderful teacher who managed all 8 grades by herself.

"NEW BOOKS OR OLD BOOKS, It makes no difference if a child reads neither!"

SAME FOR SCHOOLS. Big Schools like the $28-M Spring Valley campus means little when dominated by drugs, thugs, and sex unending. More pregnant studens than ever this year. ALL COMPLIMENTS OF THE GARY ADKINS legacy of sex, drugs, and politics from the top down being. Those being the hallmark of his leadership.

I don't hate him, but I don't appreciate the precipitous decline in our schools under his example. PITY HE AND HIS CONCUBINES IN THE CENTRAL OFFICES AND HIS POOR WIFE WHO HAS STOOD BY LOYALLY AND SUFFERED HIS FLAUNTING THE HAREM ALL THESE YEARS.

She Offered a Solution, Dearie! She said GET RID OF THE SCUM that has set education back 25 years in Wayne Co. That includes those like you who refuse to admit the shenanigans at the Central Office under his guidance. He and his minions were, are, and for 20+ years now with their focus on drugs, adultery, and sex without consequences have been a cancer eating away our kids ambition, destroying minds, killing opportunity.

YOU are part of the problem and the solution is to eliminate you and your kind starting at the top with Adkins and working down. All those in-school druggies who were transferred to the Central Staff should be next. Then the whores, the inept or burned out teachers and YOU.

GOT IT -- PROBLEM IDENTIFIED, SOLUTION PRESENTED!

i didnt know mr.adkins was a babysitter. it is up to the parents to keep their kids off drugs and educate them abt sex. sorry if i hit a nerve , you must be one of them. this is a school system not a daycare, they teach reading , writing, history, and math, teachers dont make enough to babysit too.

Mr. Adkins is a supervisor, the main honcho, responsible for everyone and everything....yes, he is a babysitter. Unfortunately, he has to babysit his administrative staff more than the students.

A structured environment that challenges the mind is not a daycare. It is a school! Restless dogs become destructive, why wouldn't children? If I had to sit there and listen to these lazy, self-centered, boring, disinterested teachers all day, I would probably want to turn around and punch someone or do a drug to handle the irritation of a wasted day too!
Its really hard to keep the kids off drugs when the deals are made at the schools. Its really hard when the drug dealers attend the schools. Its really hard when the teachers think it is not their job to provide a structured environment at school, but I guess that would explain why these things continue to go on. I guess that would explain why everything is going on in the schools BUT EDUCATION!
Here's something: explain why my child made (A+)s in science, but scored very low in the subject on the Westests or his ACT? Explain to me why my other child is a 4.0 student and doesn't know Hitler's name or what war he even caused? Explain to me why there is a livegrades system, something teachers aren't REQUIRED to keep updated, but WON'T update because it would require more effort or for them to go a bit beyond their duties for the sake of their students and parent involvement?
How about this....the board do surveys, questionnaires, or just ASK the students. You will hear "its boring", "their math program is a joke" and the best one "all I have to do is the limit and I will pass". Well, I didn't teach my children to just pass. In fact, my children have represented this school system in EVERY possible aspect and excelled. My oldest was screwed up by this school system and I am now moving my others to save them. Times have changed, its no longer the parents to blame for the few that may drop out or do drugs...we are sending good kids to alternative schools for their education, plain and simple!

I could do better. I could do much better. Know why? Because I am interested and I want to do better. I have offered solution after solution through different threads about this matter. But here is the thing.....its not my JOB! Big difference there. I guess I can see why my children have started to pass blame once they started getting older. They have learned it from the school system!

By the way, I would also like everyone to start taking notice of the amount of students this county is assisting in declaring (with their recommendations) certain students as borderline autistic or ADD/ADHD. It seems most have low GPAs but miraculously can excel outside of school in anything they do. Anyone care to guess how these schools have been getting awarded with "Schools of Excellency" to get their funding? Anyone care to know how much is now being given out in disability checks to families whose children have been deemed either of these diagnoses through the school (with the help of MU students through their "program"? Think $500 a month per child from our federal funding so teachers can continue passing the blame.

All you scum sacrificing our children should be fired. Given the crappy jobs you guys do at teaching and administration, no wonder the sports programs are failing. And, gee, if teachers aren't supposed to provide structure and "babysit", why would we expect them to make good coaches when discipline is the main requirement? At least at Wayne, they have some good coaches but I don't believe those coaches(the ones actually responsible for the wins whether that be an asst coach too), did not start by being a teacher.

No, it was the stupid decision to build the school in the first place. Once they decided to waste the money to destroy three communities of children at once with less teachers, i guess a pit with fill dirt was the best place to put it. The communities said no, but none of them listened. Strike number 1.

TO WHATEVER? If you can do a better job then keep your kid's home and you be there teacher. As for drug's being sold at school most the kids get them from mom and dad. They bring them from home to sell so mom and dad dont have to work.People like you make me sick! i do have a son with ADHD and no he dont get a check other than the one he work's every day for. he had a hard time in school but didnt have anything to do with his teachers. Some kid's do better out in the world and not stuck in a class room.He works every day has a great paying job.PPL with ADHD it is harder for them in class trust me i know. But all you want to do is bash people then just home school your kids and then you dont have to worrie.

I didn't get a degree in education nor can I earn an income homeschooling. Had I been older in college and knew what our educational system would come to, maybe I would have chosen that to be my career. I got a degree in science and liberal arts studies and work in conservation and public research. Do you know what public research is? I doubt it. It is a job that focuses on statistics. You have opinion, I have scientific studies. The education problem remains unsolved now, doesn't it?

Your post was moot. It was a rant and in reality, it is you that make people sick. Go look for a punching bag somewhere else as I said nothing negative about ADD/ADHD and I am not going to listen to you whine. I agree with your comment about some children doing better out of the classroom, as that does not say that those not excelling in the classroom are not because they lack the ability. Again, it is based on interest and that is the job of the teacher and the job of the BOE is to make sure the teacher is doing his or her job.

As far as mom and dad's drugs.....you need to get off that bandwagon. At the next stop, you will see modernization.
