I have always supported anything to help Wayne County Schools, but not this time. Many of us are working hard to defeat the levy. The BOE doesn't care or they would make some public statements to defend the need to pass the levy.
I agree..I have supported the county in the past, but no more. Things at the board office are too bad and everyone needs to go! We need new blood, someone outside of the county with experience working with our schools. Too much $$ spent on cars, phones, trips, and re-hiring retired personnel! I won't support Wayne County because it's not about the kids, it's about lining their pockets.

Wayne County Board of Ed has 65 county cars for board members. Guess how many county cars Cabel County has? Four cars total. See a problem here with those at the board office.

Not only will real estate taxes increase but personal property as well. Read the story in today's Herald Dispatch on the amounts. We're all gonna be sick when we get our tax bills if this thing passes. Hope all those voting for it can afford the payments for the next 15 years. It will put my family in a bind for sure. Remember early voting next week.

And then there's the free gas to run all those cars.$3.50 per gallon x thousands = Big Bucks.

65 more reasons why to vote NO.We have to send a strong message to everyone involved in this dysfunctional corrupt system.I feel we should be gearing about some charges being filed against the ones responsible for the already"misused" money instaed of expecting the taxpayers to clean it up for them again.Do you all think that Charleston didnt have a clue to all the new unnecesary vehicles being purchased by this corrupt BOE?Why do you think their cleaning out the old "culture" as they call it,in the state offices also?Because this "culture"/corruption runs deep in this state and Iam so glad to see it coming to an end.But we need to let the dust settle for a few years see who we have in command and then decide if its worth our investing in.We need to know without a doubt that our kids, our future, are being educated and challenged to their fullest ability.Look at this county what a corrupt unsafe place to live.An uneducated society is a self destuctive mess, which in my opinion Wayne cant get much worse off than it is.Our judicial system should follow the money thats missing and charge whoevers responsble, not sweep it under the rug like they always do or the last thing they should be doing is asking the taxpayers to clean up their mess AGAIN!!!I will be casting my NO vote as soon as possible before the 15th.

They are wanting to tear down the old historic Crum High School building. As long as that is the plans, I will vote a resounding NO!

They let Fort Gay keep their High School building, they should let Crum keep theirs.

It is one of the oldest buildings in Crum.

Yes let's deny our kids a new school because we want to keep an old building since people are lining up to see historic Crum Middle. I don't understand people. You could care less about the building until someone wants to tear it down. I bet you haven't been there in 15-20 years. If they keep Crum who will take care of it because the town of Crum does not have the thousands of dollars a month it would take to take care of it. Ft.Gay twon hall and another business (not sure which one) moving in that school and will be paying those bills. And if you think that school is in good shape apparently you weren't the parents who had light fixtures fall out of the ceiling on their child or you haven't seen my doctor bills in the winter when my kid stays sick from mold and what ever else in the school.

I agree lets deny our kids a new school...I agree if they need a new school lets the parents pay for it.... A new school ,turf on a football field or a new track would'nt benefit me a bit. I have no kids or grand kids in school, But I do have years of memories of the old crum high school. So if I'm going to pay higher taxes I think I shoud have a say so to.... So do I hear a thank you?

If the 33 million dollar bond passes we get an additional 20 million from the school building authority, but only if it passes. The turf for all three schools is 3 million of 55 million, not that much in the grand scheme of things so I don't understand why everyone is so hung up on it. And just because the building isn't there doesn't mean your memories go away. The home I grew up in is no longer there because it was in the flood plain but I still have just as many memories. Crum isn't even equipped to handle the technology to get our kids the same advantages as the rest of the country. But since people who do not have kids will never ever have to encounter these kids in any way who cares right?

The State is responsible for construction of schools. Our taxes are suppose to be funding these projects already . What the school board gets now they don't spend wisely . Having turf fields or not obviously had no effect on the last two seasons. I'll vote NO and the schools will still be built. Auxiliary gyms or turf fields have nothing to do with education.

Thats right Joe and why should the taxpayers stupidly give the BOE another levy to spend on new vehicles, vacations, hotel rooms and free gas. Those who are commenting about our kids future are obviously BOE employees who dont care if their taxes are raised cause they think their going to get it back triple fold if levy is passed.I cant believe the arrogance of this corrupt bunch who should be prosecuted for the misuse of funds instead of spending $70,000.00 for this campaign lmao to be held on Dec 15 instead of voting on it in the election in Nov.I say if they truly had our kids best interest at heart they should have spent that 70,000.00 on textbooks that we all know our kids desperately need. This is enough proof for me to know they just want more money and it has NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR KIDS EDUCATION.The poor condition our schools are in is because they "misused" the last levy and every other dime they could get their hands on.I say prosecute these immoral corrupt bunch of ppl before you start begging for more money from the taxpayers to clean up your mess.Hold em responsible for their illegal corruption or just shut the f#%k up and please stop throwing our kids under the bus and using them as a front for your corruption.Have you ppl no shame or morals?Of course not thats why all of you will be replaced before the taxpayers vote yes on another levy for the best interest of our kids future cause this bunch dont give a damn about their future their all worried they wont be able to keep up their "lifestyles" they've grown accustomed to while squandering away all the money that was suppose to be used for our kids educations. No one I know is voting yes so I have confidence that the voters have gained back their backbones and wont be intimidated into trusting this same corrupt bunch of BSers.

The question is how much extra will the levy generate than we are being told about. The more they can waste.
