I am trying to locate the burial site of Tom Wallace. He was my great grandfather and I have been looking for years and I hope that the Hatfield and McCoy movie will bring to light the answers I have been seeking.

I contacted the person that put on the video of the Sarah Ann cemetery (where Devil Anse Hatfield is buried)and she said the Tom Wallace was not buried there. I may have to spend a day or two in Mingo County courthouse and go through their records.

My grandfather Freelin Wallace told us kids, he became mixed up in the feud and no one really knew where he went. Let me know if you find it i would be interested. Till the movie was released, then I realized, i was related to him somehow

I would be interested too. I didn't realize the relation until the show and some of my family started searching around. Please let us know if you find out where he is buried.

All my leads have came up empty. I need to go to the courthouse in Logan and do some searching there. My guess is that he was buried in an unmarked grave with the Hatfield's or on their property somewhere. He was a friend and worker for Devil Anse, but because he was no relation, he probably didn't get buried in the family cemetery. According to all I have read about him, he was actually scalped so the bounty hunter could prove he killed Tom and get the reward money.

I don't know if you've found Tom Wallace's grave or not but someone posted a photo and information about it on Facebook. I don't see a way to post the photo here but they said he is buried at Palm Garden Memorial Cemetery, Justice, WV. On the marker it says, Cem 6, Grave 138. He was originally buried near Coal Mtn., WV. The creation of RD Bailey Lake at Gilbert, WV caused his grave to be moved.

Wapuscat 78-I'm a great grandson of William Thomas "Mad Tom" Wallace. No one except a McCoy would call him "Skunkhead" even though he had a white hair streak in the back of his head. Yes, a sheriff stated that he killed Tom Wallace; it was a lie! The two railroad detectives claimed they did and had a scalp to prove it; they lied. He is buried exactly where the post above says between his two last wives. His one wife (not my ggmother) died about 1901. He rode horseback to Wyoming County where he married another; they had a whole new family. I met 3 of these children in 2000 and all are deceased now. He died in 1934 of natural causes and his wife remarried; she died in 1955.

Tom Wallace Jr ins buried on other side of Wayne Wva in Community Gardens . He was the son of Mad Tom and the Father of my grandmother. I do know a gold watch belonging to Mad Tom Sr is buried in his son grave. My grandmother put it there.
