Wayne VFD would have some money to go digital if you would not have robbed them blind! Your such a hypocrite! You were in Mingo County because no one in Wayne County trusted you! I'll bet if you dropped off the face of the earth the only people who would miss you Richard Petticrew is Lavalette VFD, and about 6 or 7 mothers who expect child support from you! Pig!
Richard may have made a BIG mistake, but if I am ever in an accident, I hope he is the one that helps me....he is good at his job.

Wayne Vfd would not have the money to go digital because all of wayne county would have to go as well including new towers that handle digital systems. I think 911 has some digital capabilities but nowhere near enough a vhf base radio for a engine is about a thousand bucks and that is a 100 whatt system a digital system would coast about 5 to 6 thousand a unit med flight of ohio purchased 2 hand helds 5 thousand dollars, for 2 vhf 6 hundred.you people at wayne fire dept need to quit thinking your all the best in the state Ive heard several times about wayne vfd wanting to go digital well go you wont have but a very little transmit capability and that will be among yourselves and when your in a burning house and a bunch of clouds roll in and you loose your radio signal like the seven fire fighters in pennsylvania did you die like they did.charleston has had problems with there system since they put it in when digital fails they can always rely on VHF antalog.I dont know richard but from the rest of the state views on money stealing from that dept there was a coouple more that had there fingers in the bowl as well.its kind of funny that He leaves and there other chief leaves and now its wife and husband running the show and what about that command vechile thats all over the state Ive seen car seats in the back of it does wayne FD have kids on there dept also.that would explain the carseats in the engine.Sorry....people at that dept run there mouth to much.

This will be my last post as i usually do not post anyway but this is for Truth hurts. I have only one mother that depends on me for child support and my boys are well taken care of. As for stealing, yeah I am human as I said in my last post, I made a mistake and have paid my dues. Lesson learned on my part. You people amaze me the way you throw stones when most of you live in glass houses yourself. Have a good day, and I will keep serving the people of Wayne County as long as God lets me!

I agree 100% with you on this one. I know in my heart if it wasn't for Richard, my son would probably be dead. 11 years ago he took care of my son on Nov 17th, not only did he know what he was doing and done it well, he had compassion for us. Several times during that day if he was back at Cabell Huntington, he would stop by and check on my son and I. So what if he made a mistake, haven't we all? He does his job well and that is what matters when your life is depending on it!!! So once again Richard if you are reading this, Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

if all of these crybabies would get off this idiot box and get out and volunteer in their community instead of badmmouthing the ones who try to make a difference these situations would not exist. Everybody is looking out for #1,(what's in it for me), These attitudes do not help anyone . Most volunteers do what they do because they love it. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!

wayne vfd and ems is no different than boe and courthouse, this is an extremely corrupt town that has been run by corrupt ppl whether their elected or not.the fact that r. petticrew would have nerve to post message is good example.i would not want him caring for my neighbors dog let alone me or mine.we all no enough facts to no this vfd and ems is screwed up like everything else in this town, so what do we do?

Shorty was also my cousin and if your going to run your mouth, run it about someone who is alive to defend themselves.Whether he drank or not, doesnt excuse the fact that his body was left in the back of van and went unnoticed. He could very well be here today if someone would have opened their eyes and done their jobs correctly.

what happened with shorty was just inexcusable and very good example of how inept our ems and every other entity of "law enforcement"haha in this county is operated. we sometimes choose to blame the wrong ppl for the situation. i firmly beleive that s--t slides down hill, so u got s--t on bottom thatcanonly mean thers a large pile at the top. everybody has a boss, ppl keep screwin up can only mean boss not doin their job. we need alot of change in this town from top to bottom.question is who, what, where, when and how all this gonna take place.we better start with somebody we no can make a difference and thats God.we can pray 1st. but mean while we need to be finding out what other resources outside this county to bring attention to these life threatening situations. change can take time and energy but the right ppl standing strongly together can make it happen.

He died almost instantly you idiot, and if they hadn't been driving drunk off there asses they might be alive today... THATS THE TRUTH. To many friends and family in high places bailed them out to many times. If there buts would have went to jail once in a while when they got caught instead of everyone turning away maybe they would have gotten the hint and straighten up alittle. I'm just really glad that when they wrecked they didn't hit anyone else and kill them also.

You can't unload an entire van of junk onto the road way, plus if you recall no one was alive to say "hey someone else is in here". Plus he was rolled up in a rug in the back of the van. It was the State police not EMS who stopped the search. They didn't want the road closed down while the van was unloaded. If you all have such issues with EMS and Fire, Volunteer your self, there are several departments not just Wayne and Lavalette. East Lynn, Dunlow, Kenova, Ceredo, Fort Gay and Prichard.. Any of them would be very happy to get some help.

when it comes to making sure noone else is in a vehicle they usually will pile junk where ever needto. shortys feet were visible next day and i don't think he was rolled up in a rug!maybe u should volunteer at some of these places and u find out more facts and not be so COLD.

I DONT CARE how fast he died! There is no excuse for leaving a dead body in the back of a van.NONE!!! Maybe he did get away with drinking and raising hell but thats still no excuse for the way that was handled.NO ONE,living or dead should be neglected in such a manor. If it was a member of your family,no matter what kind of person they were, you would also be outraged.Im not blaming one certain party, but someone needs to get their shit together.

For a system that is supposedly so corrupt and never doing their jobs right, Wayne EMS, VFD, and police departments stay very busy. How many phone calls go into 911 asking for help? For the few bad things reported, there are hundreds of good things done by these people. Yet, everyone wants to focus on the few bad ones. Maybe Wayne EMS & VFD are not perfect or as quick to respond as you may want, but these are volunteers, who have other jobs and families of their own to take care of. Let's see how fast you can respond after working 8-10 hours and taking care of your family and home. I think they are all doing a great job and I'm thankful that we have them here when and if they are needed. Maybe the DHHR could put some of the welfare recipients to work volunteering some of their time to VFD, do something meaningful for that check.
As for the police departments, county and state, I think they are great! Risking their lives every day, taking a chance on leaving their families and never returning, can you imagine the stress they feel daily when leaving for work or how their families feel? And what do they get in return, a small pay check, gratitude from few and criticism from most.
I am proud of and appreciate every one of them! Where would we be if we didn't have them?
Keep up the good work Wayne VFD/EMS and Wayne county and WV police officers, some of us appreciate your hard work and dedication!
