If that is all you want, then you need to move to Cabell County.

What the heck has getting democrats out got to do with it! Republicans are not gonna do any better. Look what George Bush did to the economy and Obama gets the blame. We have a repubican house and they are don't agree to disagree. Its a mess no matter what and it's politics and will never change. Whoever is in is gonna do what THEY think is best and it will always be that way-so get use to it.

Actually, Obama doubled the amount of debt GWB tallied up in two terms in 2 and 1/2 years. Also, the economy was destroyed to greed and an inflation bubble which popped in the stock market. And also, Wayne county and WV will always be democrat because were 40 years behind the civilized world. Were the most obese, poverty stricken, jobless state because democrats have been in control since JFK or even before, and everyone has the mentality that democrats are for the working man when in fact theyre against the jobs that fuel our economy here in WV, coal. But, everyone will continue to be ignorant and vote democrats in because daddy was a democrat and by God so will I be a democrat!

Most of the problem is the parents! Not the school system. Most parents plop their kids in front of a video game or TV and take no interest. A teachers job is NOT to teach your kid respect, manners and the like.

You are seriously trying to blame a federal law that a child has to obtain an education, which money is funded for teacher's pay, is a babysitter? There are a lot of parents that can't find jobs and are actively looking while the child is at school and you figure it is all because that parent is lazy and uninvolved? My child was brought up well and went to crap in the high school. What he did was not something he learned in this house. It was something he learned at school. Getting his hands on drugs was not something he could do in this house, no, he got them at school. First time he heard about drugs, he was in the cafeteria AT SCHOOL. Oh, it was the school that released him without my permission because a friend's mother called in....the school that didn't notify me when he didn't show, the school that got his attendance wrong which is also why I wasn't aware of tardies or absences, a school of which my son watched daily or weekly beatings between children, a school wherein my son knows what kids and teachers are partiers, or having sex with each other. This doesn't happen in my house.
Seems to me, I sent my child to the projects for his education. Seems to me, I am a negligent parent for trusting the public education my taxes pay to provide. Seems to me, the school system should be considered to be contributing to the delinquency of minors. Seems to me that there is too much time and not enough teaching going on.
Teachers should not consider themselves babysitters. I can guarantee a 13 year old could provide a better environment.

My kid was a good kid, so what was the reason he wasn't provided a good education? I did all those things you said, so why did he not do well in the latter years of high school? Maybe he didn't do well because the education was good enough to keep his mind occupied. Like a bored dog becomes destructive, why would you not think a restless mind and body would react differently? There are kids whose had bad lives and no parental involvement, that have become productive to society. How did that ever happen? Based on your theory, it shouldn't have.

Regardless of the home life of the student, you still have to provide an education to them. Blaming doesn't do that. Lack of problem solving on the part of teachers will not either. If you can't fix it, leave and let someone else try.

Well said. Hmmm, Kelly is going to SVHS ... From what I hear she to needs to get a GRIP on her unruly offspring. What goes around comes around. Good luck with all that.

It is your child's responsibility to put effort into learning. You expect teachers to "learn" for your child rather than teach your child....that is the problem!

@ ur dumb- 1. There were drugs at Wayne when I went years ago-- I didn't do them bc my mom raised me that way. 2. I treated all of my elders with respect bc again I was raised that way! Lots of teachers and bus drivers have to deal with kids who have no respect (which they should have learned at home!) You obviously DID NOT provide enough self-esteem for your child to make better decisions. I was offered drugs and I could have skipped school but i didn't!!!
