So who is running for what in Wayland?

Mayor -

What other positions are open?

According to the Genesee Country Express:
Mayor:
Brian McCoy

Village trustee:
Amy Bouck
Danny Dean
Rick Lock
Madelyn Wolfanger

Village Justice:
Thomas Recktenwald

From my recollection, town board elections are in the fall.

I think McCoy does well. I guess the Democrats thought that too.

How many Trustee's do we elect?

I like Rick Lock and Danny Dean

The current trustees seem to give the fire department a hard time they also hired a new villlage cop behind the Mayors back while he was out of town.

Village Justice
Thomas Recktenwald is not even a lawyer. I have no idea how this guy keeps getting such an important position

Because you don't have to be a lawyer to be a Town or Village Justice. Tom Recktenwald is one of the moste competent Justices in the Livingston or Steuben Counties. The following Justices in the area are not Lawyers either:

Judge Gendreux, Town of Dansville
Judge Pebbles, Town of Wayland
Judge Snyder, Town and Village of Cohocton
Judge Haywood, Town of Springwater
-and the list goes on and on. What they have done is pass the NY State requirements to be a Justice so if you have a complaint against the requirements maybe you should take it to the State. Every one of them does a fantastic job in their respective Town/Village. Oh and by the way the Town and Village Court in Wayland is one of the most up to date local courts as to what NY expects. Show some respect for Judge Recktenwald, he does an honorable service for near NO pay.

Where did you hear that Rene Fleishman is running for Mayor? She wasn't listed in the paper. Is she running as an Independent?

You got some bad info, they didnt hire a new cop they voted to continue having 2 full time positions in the department, something McCoy didnt like i'm sure, but its been in the budget forever. McCoy's just a little out of touch.

She's running as a republican write-in...
She has signs all over Wayland.

Thought you would have noticed since you're with the W.A.R. group...

RESPECT???? LOL!!!

You just listed a bunch of half-wits who don't have a clue how to do their jobs!

One of them was going to actually have a jury trial in HER court room and had no idea what to do so she hung out with the ADA for a day to see how one was handled. Fair Judge? Already on the side of the ADA...

God forbid that me or anyone I know should have to go up against one of these HACKS!!!

Not trying to be sexist here but the two women are a little nuts on the best interests of the village of wayland.

One of the guys is a deputy for steuben county right? Rick Lock? and the other one is a fireman for wayland Dan Dean.

Who's Rene Fleishman (R)? What does she stand for? Why does she want to be Mayor when her party has decided to keep McCoy as the Republican's choice?

So everyone is a half wit. I am betting that you think you have all the answers and that you could do it better. Why don't you run for any of the respective offices? Its always easy to Monday morning quarterback. The amount of changes that have come down for the courts over the past couple of years has been a challenge for ALL local courts, statewide. Do you not think that any of the Judges I listed are honorable people who try to do the right thing? Nobody is perfect and I am sure you understand that because we are all human. Like I said earlier, they do the best they can with what they have for near no pay. Cut them some slack as I am sure they do to many people who show up in their courts for a first time visit.

I see her signs now. They seem to have gone up over the weekend. Truth be told, I pay very little attention to those political yard signs. They don't say anything about the candidates except for their name, so they are essentially useless and turn politics into a popularity contest.

I don't know what she stands for and I'm actually a bit surprised to see anybody run for write-in. From my understanding nobody wanted to run when the parties had a chance to nominate someone else. Why is she trying to run now? And, what is her platform?

I don't think she is a good choice..I wouldn't want someone who is a cheat, thief, and someone who defrauds the state and gover. Why do I say this? For someone to run a day care and not claim it on taxes. Someone who goes to food pantries when she has her daycare parents bring snacks in. And she doesn't give it to the kids in the daycare, but to her own family. One that puts signs up and takes everyone else's down. She doesn't get along with people. She likes to start trouble wherever she goes. I sure know she doesn't have my vote.

She doesn't stand for anything. Does she think she could actually win? I think not. I hope her true colors come out. She is only thinking of herself..It's all business for her. Money. How do you know she won't steal from the town, Village? She does it in other things, why not here.

You really throw a lot of accusations out there. You should run for Sheriff and really shake things up in this county since you seem to have info and an opinion on most everyone!
