Gangs flourish at this level because there is no disciplin. Liberals appear to condonde this behavious because they've stripped the teachers of any disciplin for the little bastards.

Most of these kids belong to single mothers who don't know who the father is. There is no disciplin at home beacause the mother wants to be their childrens' friend. THEY DON'T NEED YOU AS A FRIEND, THEY NEED YOU AS A PARENT.

The streets are the babysitters. These mothers couldn't care less where the kids are or what they are doing.

LIBERALS ARE RUINING THIS COUNTRY -and as a man of knowledge puts it: LIBERALISM IS A MEANTAL DISEASE.

I agree it's a frightening story...a frightening reflection of our ego-maniacal culture, but I find such unfounded judgementalism almost equaly disturbing.:(

'From what I understand, they were considered pretty good kids,' Martin said.
I would want to know what happened in that classroom to push the kids in that direction. Sometimes old school teachers do not have the skill set or patients in dealing with kids with emotional problems. I wonder what went on in the class room besides the student just standing on the chair maybe there is more to the story. I'd like to know how the class was run by the Verteran educator and if there was any problems between the students and the teacher in the past. What is going on in the homes too something does not seem right.

I think it shows real initiative on the part of "THIRD" graders. I mean heck, when the rest of th country's kids are busy worrying about pokemon and baseball these kids built an organization.

AND FOR THIS I SALUTE THEM!!!

On the other hand how bad does a teacher have to be before students revolt?

Or how charismatic does a student have to be to lead a classroom full of kids into fullscale war mode?

THIS WILL BE A MOVIE OF THE WEEK.

Did the children say why they hated their teacher so much? This is scary for third graders. Where are these children learning such a violent mentality? Video games? What?

It's the liberals fault. No religion, no personal responsibility, no morals. You did it.

I kept reading comments in the article that these are "good kids". Why is society in denial when it comes to kids. Why aren't these kids taught that when they are in school, the adults are in charge. Period. If there's a problem with the teacher, what happened to tell your mom or dad? Where is this kind of violent behavior learned? These kids will grow up thinking violence is the way to handle things, and don't think this is an isolated incident. That's the problem. Most criminals started with one isolated incident that fell through the cracks. These kids need counseling, along with their parents. This is not how kids should handle their problems.

This shows that parents forced the school into putting and believing that their children haveing learning disabilities... YEAH Right... that is how 9 children arrange an organization to plot on killing their teacher, with a fine detail in covering up such as cleaning up afterwards.

IT'S A SIGN OF THE TIMES. This could have been someone else's child they wanted to harm, and they could have very well succeeded in doing so, and then what? another headlining story on cnn about how our kids have brought harm to one another once again. We need to PRAY for all of our kids first and foremost, and figure out a way to stop these things from happining.

I find everything this gook says, offensive. You need to grow a brain Curtis. We're talking about children in third grade trying to kill their teacher, and you have to try to make some dumbbutted remark. Sick.

Just to comment....the shcool did not say they had learning disablilities they had mental and emotional disabilities. Children with ADD and ADHD are highly intellegent they just learn differently from other students. That is why they are in a special class. I do not agree with the statement blaming the mothers. You never hear anyone critisizing the fathers. Obviously there is more to the story. They are children and this is a matter that needs to be handled by the school along with the parents. Emotional problems are very difficult to deal with...

I respectfully disagree. This too seems like a copout. Children with special needs sit in classes everyday, all over this country and don't behave this way. What would make these kids resort to this level of violence? There's something very wrong here.

Wow.....only 4 posts it took to have some religious person post a bible passage. I think this is a new record in the "separation of church and state" dispute.

RELIGION DOES NOT BELONG IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.....Children do not have the capacity to understand all that is involved in religion and theology.
