This is not a good sign people...now we are seeing established businesses picking up and moving out of the "Historic Downtown" area of Waxhaw for Cureton. With Prescot Village not far off...we're going to continue to see this kind of business flight unless our new Mayor & Board Members put a future plan on the agenda PRONTO!

Anyone hear about Big Dog Cafe, Summerfield's, and Ice Cream & Pizza Works being torn down and a new development built on the property to include housing as well as retail? This is to include approximately 14 acres which goes behind these businesses as well. Sounds a lot like what is going in Prescot too. Does Waxhaw really need all these shopping centers in a row?(Cureton, Prescot, and this one?)

Hurry Karen you can't allow any development in your area. You & your special interest groups know "what kind of people that will bring". The lords of the west must put a stop to all development or the next thing you know poor people will be moving there. The lords will not stop till all development in Union County is under their control.

Why don't you just stop it, Kirtg!! You are really mean!! What you are not getting is these businesses are already established businesses that have been here for years! Why tear down something that is thriving just to build new? I am sure the existing businesses will not be able to afford to go back into the area they are being forced out of. I AM NOT, LET ME REPEAT, I AM NOT AGAINST DEVELOPMENT!!! I just think it should be smart development. Just to tear down buildings and put businesses out of commission is not smart development. All three of the businesses mentioned above are well-established and respected businesses and they are fine the way they are.
