SAY NO to Libertarians!

No one in their right mind should vote for a Libertarian. Just go to their website http://www.lp.org/ and find out what strange odd ball beliefs make up their platform.

I don't, for example, want a Libertarian county commissioner who supports legalizing illegal drugs and narcotics. Libertarians favor selling Cocaine, Heroin, Crack, Meth and other illegal drugs in stores similar to ABC stores! Having a county commissioner who supports such nonsense is dangerous to our community!

They also favor granting the rights of citizenship to people who have illegally entered this country. In other words they want to reward law breakers with the same rights American citizens have. If we elect Libertarian county commissioners who believe this way we are asking for trouble!

Jerry Simpson knows every inch of union county and knows the people here. He served as the Ag agent in this county until he retired. He's not some outsider and he's not politically motivated. He just wants to serve the people.

There have been some screwups and steamrolling the former chairwoman and her alli instead of dealing with them courteously is beginning to make all concerned look a little bad. Don't get me wrong I supported the 3 Amigos but they are making decisions and not allowing fair discussion. I'm old enough to remember the Ruth Helms board which did the same thing back in the 1970's. Ruth had the votes in her back pocket before the meeting began and squashed opposition. It's far to early to say this is an outstanding board. The revaluation decision may come back to slap them in the face. The state mandates reevaluation and IT ultimately makes the decision. Then there is the old dead horse that is continuously whipped. The Hospital. While everybody was raising hell over the possible sale CMC was preparing a disguised screw job in the form of a long term lease that would give them outright ownership in 20 years. Thomas went around promoting the screw job lease having never read it. Once he realized what it REALLY was he backed away and said he never supported it. Well folks it's coming back to haunt us. The board has stated equivocally that they will not sell Union Memorial (CMC-U) so they must negotiate a new lease. Considering how CMC attempted to screw the county maybe we should give Presby a shot at a lease!

Doyle Lawson....I agree with all you stated except I only remember Thomas saying selling it was a bad idea. In fact, I saw Johnson last week and he said they have fulfilled their obligation of a no sale. I told him how proud I was to have the 3 J's up there and I think they make a great team. With Thomas's background in healthcare, I think as healthcare liason he will come out this year with a smoking deal with CHS. They know they cannot screw with him.

As far as the reval, I agree the state will probably come in and I think the 3 J's know that. However, I appreciate the break in taxes until that happens. Let the westerners pay for those highend schools we had to build to accomodate them.

I agree with the earlier post. I think we will have the best board in the history of Union County! Let's watch and see!
