Just wondering if there are any Walmart associates that read this forum?

Wal-mart is a joke the mangers at the Chillicothe stores are so rude and unfair, They fire the good workers for their pick, the ones that kiss butt or they know. They fired a really great person and great worker just so the one that kiss butt could have her job, Just about the whole family works there, they are worthless,

Yes, Tabby, people just do not know how Walmart treats their employees. It is terrible. I worked at the Waverly store for almost 5 years. I quit June 2006. We even had an assistant manager that physically assaulted an employee. But the only harm that came to her, was a transfer to the Chillicothe store. She is now an assistant there also. This is really bad. If people only knew how they treated the workers, they would boycott them. Especially the shoppers that are Union members.
Check out the web site: www.wakeupwalmart.com
it has some good information on it.

That manger wouldn't happen to be Jennette ? She is double B____.This chick I know who was a great worker and person got fired just because her mother used her discount to buy items for her, the mother had two checks the night they set her up ,one was the mothers and the other other one was her grandpa and mothers name, her grandfather owed her money so she wrote two checks. The next day they called her to the office and fired her telling her that the sister of the grandmother used the discount.BUT SHE DIDN'Ttshe didn't they told her she was a lier but they couldn't show her where the grandmother's sister used it because she didn't They tried to tell her the names on the check wasn't the same ,because on the grandmother check,it had Debbie and her grandpa's had Debra. She's drawing unemployment but they fight her. She is waiting for them to take her to court and the sister of the grandmother is going to get them for accusing her of stealind buy using a discount that she didn't use. How long had she worked for Walmart? They are doing anything they can, to get rid of anyone who has been with the company for a few years. No matter what.
I started at the Waverly store in 2001, it was a great place to work. The managers were good people and treated the employyess with respect. Then things started changing in 2004. And from then till now it gets worse every day. I quit in June, because I had worked for Kmart 15 years and went through the same thing there. Only Walmart is worse than Kmart.
And I am sure it will fall on its face someday, just like Kmart did.

Word is Walmart is going to close lawaway.
And only a week or so ago, they put a salary cap on their employees. So you can see how it pays to work for them for any amount of time.
Getting worse every day, pretty soon they will be out of business.
And it's being run by a Mexican and a woman named Susan Chambers.

Transnational shipping will soon be too expensive for most big box stores to stay afloat. But don't worry our government will be happy to rescue them and subsidise their failing business and the CEOs will get just as rich.

Heard today it is possible Walmart will be open on Christmas Day, maybe not this year, but next year.
I would hope NO ONE would shop on Christmas, this company is so greedy.
All they would get that day is people with no life or family. And the ungratful people that can't wait to return the gifts they received they don't want.

Well, it is true. It was announced today. Layaway at Walmart will close. The last day any layaway's will be put in will be Nov. 19th.
So if you are a person that takes advantage of layaway, you should plan on shopping at Kmart or another store that offers it.
Walmart is trying to force their customers to use their Walmart credit cards. They don't understand we live in a poor county.
Nor does the company care anymore.

They also want to start "walmart banks". Not have branch locations of other banks in their stores, but wal-mart banks! Pretty soon it will be like it was before the turn of the last century, when you had to live on the company housing, shop at the company store, and work for the company all while they kept you in debt on purpose so you would be forced to continue slaving for them.

Yes, JBH, this is true. They lied to the FDIC on the application for the bank.
Just think, they own their own bank, all their workers would have to use it, if they do direct deposit, that would be a large sum of money, huh?
They would come out at first with great interest loans etc, then slowly put the smaller banks out of business, just like they have done to the small Mom and Pop businesses in towns they have opened stores.
Then they would raise their interest loans to what ever they choose, as they would have the market on banking also. It is a very dangerous situation, would you call it a monopoly?

I just found out that our Walmart is now doing away with Christmas layaways. Said that it doesn't benefit them, only the customers. Hello, without the customers, who do they think will keep them in business?

Also found out that they are capping wages, & did away with the merit raises.

Sure glad I don't work there. Almost everytime I go in, there's new employees working. Goes to show that people don't stay there for a reason.

I worry that when they have put all the other businesses out of business they will jack their prices up & we wont be able to afford anything because the job we & our spouses jobs wont exist. Maybe the way the company treats the employees explains some of the employee additudes, which are usually not very nice or cooperative. Of coarse I am a impulse buyer & returner/exchanger ;) But I have gotten better over the years. Once I was in the waverly walmart. I wanted to return something I had bought & couldnt find my reciept. They gave me credit, fine even though I really wanted my cash money back. A lady comes in carrying a 19" TV said she was from Tennessee & wanted to return it & needed cash. I stood by & listed. They called a manager, said they didnt carry it anymore & hadnt for a couple years. I thought ha, but then he asked if she remembered what she paid, she said about $119 & they gave it to her in cash!! I was so pissed, I told them off & demanded my money-they gave it to me. I just dont understand that. She was probably needing the money for drugs & made up that crazy story, I actually had just had my item a few days & buy so much from there & get treated like a criminal?? I have several good stories of walmart shopping adventures, lol.

Thats kinda harsh. Me & my family have stopped to see if walmart is open on xmas day on the way home from grandmas, for this or that. They werent but I have a family & a life. Plus I think it would be fine if they were open for the people who dont have family or lives so they have somewhere to go instead of maybe getting depressed & killing themselves at home on xmas day.

Well then, why don't you go put in an application to work at Walmart and ask to be one of the people to work on Christmas Day?
Most everyone I know wants to spend the day with their family.

True not everyone celebrates it. And I have had jobs where i've work holidays & I am happy to be kind to the lonely people that come in or out of towners that have to be away from their families. If they are going to be open they are going to be open, I hope they offer to take volunteers first & then ask people that do not have kids to volunteer so people can be with their families. I have never wanted to work at walmart on anyday. And most people find time around their work schedules to celebrate with family. If your original comment was leaned toward walmart should be closed on xmas fine, but to suggest anyone that would go there on xmas day is a complete loser was harsh & then that I should get a job their because I defended them-I'm not sure what to call that, I guess it would be that you dont want to say I'm right that was harsh & that you really meant you hope they dont open so employees can be with their families. Sometimes I rather be at work with the the people with no family or friends then with my family, especially my inlaws. lol.

1) I have a 2year old son.
2) You must live alone to not know what an emergancy is to be thankful that a place is open when no where else is.
3) Lets just say I really need dipers when your child um exspectedly has bad poops. EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT REASONS. Haven a child he doesn't care if it's Christmas it's just another day. Im glad they are open on Christmas. You need to go for many reasons when you have a child.

Thank you very much Miss Know It All Mother.
I raised 2 sons with cloth diapers, as I didn't have money to waste on the throw away kind. And their father had a good job too, by the way.
What do you say to the kids that Walmart forces to work on Christmas, when their Mom can't be there with them when they wake up Christmas morning?
Probably you wouldn't know anything about that since you have never had a job.
THERE IS NO REASON ,NONE, TO HAVE TO GO TO STUPID WALMART ON CHRISTMAS DAY.
Stay home with your family. It won't kill you to stay home, and off the streets, for one day a year.
