Has the Ohio Passion Travel team taken over the league,is the league paying for the passion to play? The Passion seemed to be running the concession stand all year, now league board members are coaching Passion Teams ,the Passion seems to have control of the diamonds, they have keys to the leagues building. The same people who used the WGYLL as their personal empire so their daughters could play whatever position they wanted on all stars have spread their control to the Passion so they can do the same thing and just like in the league someone else helps pay fot it.

How dare they take their girls down to the ball diamonds and help them improve her game. This is a outrage. Someone needs to tell them those fields was made built for the youth in this area. If your upset about what is going on at the fields get more involved. I bet if someone else want to work in the concession stand they would be more than happy to have help.
STOP GRIPPING ON TOPIX AND HELP OUT. THEN YOU WOULD SEE WHAT IT TAKES TO RUN A NONE PROFIT GROUP. YELP THATS RIGHT NO ONE GETS PAID TO RUN THE SOFTBALL LEAGUE!!!!

This is typical in Waverly. It is sad but some really talented kids will never have a fair opportunity or chance in this town. I know of a few softball girls who have already went out of town so they can get the opportunities they deserve.

No Princes, each girl has to pay to play on the team. And let me tell you, it is not cheap. Playing for travel league is different than the regular season. Parents have to pay travel costs, uniforms, hotel rooms for games and practices that can cover several states.
Try out dates were posted, and still are, on the dugouts for anybody who wanted to come out and try. You have to be a good player to get on a team. It's not a pay $25 and you are guaranteed a spot on the team deal.
The team is not a part of the WGYL; it is its own seperate entity with its own board. The organization has expanded from one team to five this year and since the Passion is based out of Waverly there are many coaches from WGYL jumping at a chance to train their girls year round. Some of these people happen to be WGYL board members, so yes, they have the keys to the sheds. I know the original Passion team purchased their own equipment from fundraisers last year.
For too many years the only options for year round play were to go to Columbus or Cincinnati. I applaud the fact that a group got together and made a local travel club that would be easier for the Pike County girls to particiapte in. And yes, there are girls from the county schools as well as Ross and Scioto County schools on the teams. This is benefitting the entire area, not just one school.
Lastly, The ball fields are owned by the city and are open for all to use. The Y plays down there as well as a boys fall league. The past two weekends I have been down at the fields I have seen several adult softball games, a large boy;'s fall ball gathering, and several travel teams coming in for a scrimmage. This is good for our local economy as people who travel to Bristol Park will need to get gas and eat while they are in town.
