"The real value of the checkpoint is the education and awareness, letting (people) know that the effort is out there.”

It's to deter drinking and driving all together, not for people who want to drink and drive to make alternate routes.

The funny thing is, they put it out there, place/dates/etc, and they STILL catch people who are drinking and driving that want to pass through them. That's the best part.

when u go thru 1 of those like the one over the weekend, they give you a paper that had information on it. they did a good job. checked everyone's plates for validation and such. quickly inspected the contents of your car while they were talking to you. they werent invasive by any means. pretty nice. only took about a minute or two at the most. 4 cars a time. then next 4 an so on.

Ben Franklin once said"if you give up liberty for security you dont deserve either one".when the nazis did these things everybody says it was wrong.when OUR government engages in oppression they tell us we need this, and the rest of you fascists agree. if you can't travel from point A to point B without being stopped and questioned YOU ARE NOT FREE.

I believe state sponsored sobriety checkpoints are fundamentally unconstitutional. They are unnecessary. They are intrusive.

You, as a driver are presumed to be under the influence of alcohol up until you have been questioned and "investigated" and cleared by a member of law enforcement

Take a stand against this ridiculous assault on the fourth amendment.

TAKE A STAND FOR OUR COUNTRY, GOOD PEOPLE.

Education and awareness of what? Ask any licensed driver if it is legal to drive while intoxicated. Is there anyone that actually doesn't know that DUI is illegal?

There is NO real value in directly violating the fourth amendment. NONE.

You are a mindless, washed out, tired and probably lazy person. You let others think for you.

Shame on you for not standing up for our constitution.
