Adipex is classified as an amphetamine and doesn't help you lose weight and keep it off. you have to have a diet change also and and exercise if you want to keep it off. It can cause high blood pressure, elevated heart rate and insomnia. Personally I wouldn't want to take the risk of not getting any sleep just to lose weight.

I had great results taking them and tons of water and exercise but when I got to my goal weight and stopped I gained every bit back almost as fast as it came off!

Anyone use Adipex to loose weight? Do they work? Side affects? Thinking trying those combined with exercise to try loose 30-40 lbs
I have been using adipex for years, when I first went on them I lost over 80lbs....I swear by them. But, keep one thing in mind...when you go off them you HAVE to keep up with your exercise regimen or it will come back.(having a hard time with losing now) I gained back about half of it and now it's trickeling off little by little. You have to have a good mind set and know that you are doing it for a healthier you.

Ohly take them if they are prescribed by your physician so that you can be monitered regularly...

Side effects can be fast heart rate, dry mouth (drink lots of water) irritability, lots and lots of energy. If you have high blood pressure, seek your doctor's advice first. They can be dangerous for pt's with high blood pressure.

Good luck and hope this helps!

Adipex are not illegal in Ohio, but Ohio has a law on them since they are considered a control substance. Some will prescribe for 2 weeks and some a month. Kentucky doctors prescribe for 2 months.
so does MI docs...2 months and I have also had 3 months at a time as long as you are being monitered by a doctor. Here in MI it is more an obgyn that prescribes them.

It's illegal if they do. I'd stay away from that.
Once again, this loud mouth is ranting on about something she know absolutely NOTHING about! And she SHOULD know, she needs them for her big fat ass.

There is an advertisment in the News Watchmen for a place called " New Image weight loss " in Greenup ,Ky that prescribes them must not be to ilegal ? I'm not sure on the rules but their is something in Ohio about them only being able to get so many at a time or something of that matter but if people want to drive tp Ky for them there is nothing ilegal about an Rx in their name of adipex ...

I just spoke to my weight loss doc in Cincy today about Adipex. It isn't against the law in Ohio. The law is that they can't be prescribed for longer than three months at a time. Yes you need to be monitored by you doc. With mine, I go once a month, talk to a dietician, blood work and ekg etc.. I will also be getting B12 shots monthly from him.

I used them years ago & lost lots of weight. However I built up a tolerance & gained it back. Thought maybe after a few years my tolerance would go down- it didn't, so I never used them again. Not good for long term weight loss.
been there

Another technicality, in Ohio only one pill can be prescribed per day, in Kentucky it is two per day.
Law enforcement isn't stupid, they monitor certain travel routes on "clinic day" and catch quite a few.
I head south to the flea market on Thursdays, over the last couple of years I have seen numerous busts on the return trip.
Adipex are nearly as desired as opiates, IMHO neither are worth the risk or side effects.
