Can anyone else see the current Council Member running this town into the ground? Let me know everyones honest opinions about this. I think they need to do some future planning and work on bringing jobs and businesses into this community.

The entire group. It seems like people in this area are completely oblivious the the way that the econemy and the world is around here. It seems something has got to give and Im afraid its going to be the citizens that suffer here!

Make an exception and bring back Bill Kelly, he'd straighten them out.

We honestly couldnt get that lucky. People can say what they want about Bill but he didnt take any crap and made people do thier jobs, its definetely different than what is going on right now in town.

Yea ok there are 3 reason Johnathan Claytor should never be allowed back on council again!!!

1. He is an idiot
2. He is a woman beater
3. He is an idiot

That pretty much sums it up

I mean its bad enough that we have a Bevins that is going to be in on Council now, Im pretty sure he doesnt know where he is at 78% of the time and he is a good friend of Claytors, this should be real interesting, another Forest Blakeman as far as I can see!

I think I would have to agree with PikeCounty on this one, we are in bad enough shape as it is around here to keep Claytor as far from the council meetings as possible. he was a joke that for sure.

Im not for sure when he starts but I have also heard this rumor going around. I think that its Brett if I got his name right, I think he is a reporter for Portsmouth Daily Times, I just dont know about this one folks. But I guess it couldnt really be any worse than Forrest Blakeman could it. Im sure he wont have a voice of his own, he will just be malipulated to do what they want.

I hate to see people bash others who are elected officials but that does come with the territory, i am not a basher of anyone on council but i will admit that the council does seem to have much, much, more power with Bill Kelly gone- he either ran a tight ship or people just did what he said or maybe everyone just got along good. One thing for sure, if they dont work together not much will get done.

Well - run for Mayor then if you don't like the way things are going...if you don't like the members on council, run for council. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that.

i agree marmy3- it seems like people get on council and they stay forever and everyone gripes but no one runs for office- there is really no political power that is left on the council and anyone of them could be beaten by a decent person. Some of them might get beat bad.

Yes, which is why I hope my husband decides to run for council - a lot of people have suggested it so why the heck not?

We have had brush, etc. picked up on Friday for a long time now. All we had to do was have it out by the curb on Friday.
Now, I heard from a friend last week, that this service has been stopped.
Why the change? This has a lot of people upset, as they are told to have it bundled or hire a private company or person haul it away for them.
What happened?
