If the bureaucrats in the city government would spend the tax payers money more efficiently, and was more frugal and use better discernment when it comes to spending money, then taxes would not have to be hiked. The citizens should be able to vote on the proposed tax hike and kick those people out of office who want do not spend the money more wisely. There should be more scrutiny and more transparency there in Bay St Louis city government.

Lets raise taxes so Les has more money to squander. Talk is he went broke in two of his own businesses. Remember his pre-election talk about the Bay having a temporary cash flow problem. Mr Tax and Spend.

Tax hikes like we need them no really we did, but will someone explain to me why the villiage idiots let Josh leave the only certified inspector in the building department. Then to top it all off like a ice cream sunday they put redheaded jerry B in there, and they are paying him almost 20 dollars an hour really. I once heard them talking about cutting employees well this isn't what I call a cut oh wait it is a cut to every employee who work hard a real hard cut to take.

How in the hell is Ass Mayor Jerry qualified to have this position? Oh wait, his boss (Les' other friend) is even more unqualified and he makes $60,000 per year. Based on that alone, Jerry is a bargain. Way to go Les.........your raping of BSL continues.

Why? Does my listing my name make it any less true? Go to City Hall and ask for a payroll list. Anyone can do it. It will show you exactly what Charlie Oliver and Jerry Beaugez make per year. How many times has Charlie taken and FAILED his Mississippi State Building Inspector test? Is it four or five? I'm not sure what you're smoking, or if you're actually Les, but in the real world, average citizens don't get and hold $60,000+ per year jobs they are unqualified for. Certainly they don't head departments that they themselves are unqualified for. Anyone else would have been let go after failing to pass their certification test on MULTIPLE occasions. That is UNLESS you are the Mayor's best friend. As for Jerry, he has worked with Les since he is a teenager. Les created a position for him with the City of BSL.......a position with no defined role. In fact, it was Jerry who first referred to himself as "Ass Mayor." In defense of Jerry, with a little preparation, he will likely pass the Mississippi State Building Inspector test........at least he can read. This has nothing to do with like or dislike......it's the simple truth. My name won't change it, one way or the other.

You are wasting your time trying to make sense or tell the truth on this site. All of the city hall cronies will just cloud the issue by changing the subject or simply call you out, like on the school playground. They don't care about the truth. They just want to protect their cushy positions. Bay Saint Louis has gone to hell under Les Fillingame. He is nothing more than a consummate politician. He will smile in your face, shake your hand, and then tell his lackeys to screw you once you are out of ear shot. My friend, I'm afraid you will have to look at ol Les as a fungus. Let him run his course and eventually he will just go away. You are also right about the council. They have done nothing to stop what is going on right now. My guy talks big but he gets little to nothing done. I only voted for him because I did not have a better choice. I hope next election is different. If not, I plan to vote none of the above. Hang in there.

From the remaining balance of the boating infrastructure grant. The gloom and doom of the city taxpayers picking up the tab for harbor operations didn't happen either since it is operating in the black about 4 years ahead of schedule. I guess some of you must be really pissed something is succeeding. Development in old town is years ahead of schedule as well. "Ya gotta accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative and don't mess with mister in between."

That grant must be a blank check. It just keeps on giving. I'm sure all taxpayers are happy with the way their money is being spent. It's an engineering error. They have no E&O insurance either?
Downtown is private property. Why does the government have a "plan"?

First off, I only care about the Bay. I live here. Do you honestly want to defend your administration by saying "Waveland did it too?" In addition, I don't mind at all paying my fair share of taxes. I honestly think it is mistake that BSL has not raised fees/taxes commensurate with our state and national economies. You are deluded if you think the only ones capable of lucid complaints are "political enemies" or "disgruntled employees." You were laid off by the city? Really? At least I speak the truth. In your estimation, speaking against equates to "HATING" the Bay. Conversely, I love the Bay enough to speak up and demand better than what we are getting. We deserve better from the Mayor and his administration. We deserve better from the City Council. Other than a select few, it is the city's employees who have truly suffered and deserve better.

Why don't you respond to this? You think I hate The Bay? How can you not be disgruntled and complain when the above is actively happening under the current administration? That is my tax dollars being wasted! That is your tax dollars being wasted! That is our tax dollars being wasted! You're a happily laid off city worker? What a joke! If this administration wouldn't be throwing money at their friends, maybe there would be no layoffs. Better yet, how about raises for the average city employees? Not the Verizon raises that the current administration practices, better known as the friends and family plan. I know times are tough for everyone, but how long has it been since the average city employee has even received a cost of living increase? I for one, am very thankful for the job they do. The current mess is not their fault. We all deserve better!

The city needs better! Les has no respect for employees that give 110%. Giving up their weekends, free time, family time, adjusting their hours to fill in for sick calls with no thanks at all. He simply wants more and more for Les and les.....I know how to spell by the way, pun intended. The police department actually reuses paper, printing on the other side of already used paper because he won't give them a ream of paper to print on. There have been no cost of living increases in years under his administration, yet friends like jerry get moved to positions they're not qualified for and given raises (over 19.00 an hour by the way, hello officers working for 14.00) Les is a liar and has become a complete politician, the power has gone gone to his drunken head. He makes promises to employees then doesn't follow through or tells his lackies to handle it and ignores the person complaining the promise wasn't fulfilled. Straight up honesty might get him more respect but apparently he either has no balls or no morals. Les wouldn't know honesty if it smacked him in the face. Most employees of the police dept want to gripe about the chief or policy and complain about morale, but the simple truth is that "politician" next door is the only one knowingly and purposely screwing you and you can bitch all you want but nothing will change until that lying, two faced politician is gone. Don't bother talking talking to him because he talks out the politician side of his face and the orders the screw. Call PBA, the wage and labor board, EEOC, the AG's office. Most of these agencies will keep you anonymous. Bottom line you're being screwed. Go to council meetings or add you name to the email list with the clerk of council. Know what's going on....it's all about his friends and family.

Officers! Call PBA, the way comp time is being handled is illegal!!!! If no one complains it continues. just so Ya know. Don't let the new OT persuade you not to. That will soon end so Les can give ithat money to a friend.
