Waveland is a bunch of lazy idiots. That's what happens when you aren't big enough to be a city and you don't have some kin in the right place. Just look how things have been run there for the past twenty years. You had a hippo as the police chief that I could smoke a pack a cigarettes and run backwards if he had to catch me in a foot persuit. You had a cop in there that has been caught for insurance fraud for burning his vehicle to ground to collect a check. You have a cop having sex with his partners wife on duty on the hood of a squad car. They also had one cop that like to sit across the road from the Knock Knock and wait to see cars leave and just pull them over and give them DUIs. I would like to go have a beer a there but I can't risk being seen at a bar in Waveland because I scared of getting framed for a DUI. You have lawsuits out the bung hole for tazing pregnant women and the elderly. Then to top it off all the sudden they realize they don't have a wooden nickel to there name or a pocket to put it in. These fools couldnt even get their act together by supplying 3 city employees to have that fest. on Coleman Ave because that would cost them too much money, after they let the promoters invest a pile of money getting everything lined up, just to pull the rug out from under them at the last second. Who wants to do business with a bunch of halfa$$ amatures like that? Not me or any other serious business man.

If they got their act to get they might be able to collect some tax money on something besides Walmart. You look at all the abandon shopping complexs in that city and it make you wonder why no one wants to fill those voids. It's because, would you want to give your hard earned tax money to someone that has the common sense of twit or would you rather go to the next town over that's going to work with you and try to help you start a business.

Waveland you might as well hang it up, you are so incompetent I would think most of the ones in charge are originally from Lakeshore where the family tree grow nice and tall with no branches.

Val I am positive. I'm positive that everything I said is true. I guess I shouldn't complain right, well ignoring a problem isn't going to fix anything. That's why Waveland had to fired most it's city employess and get rid of it's police department for like 6 months. @ WD40jr I think Waveland wanted BSL to take them when things went in the crapper, but who wants to take over a dump. Diamondhead doesn't want to start out as a newly formed city already over their head in debt. hahaha

You obviously only read the negative parts; the parts which appeal to the drama queens. Let me fill you in on what you missed. It took Waveland many years to fall into the shape it was in. Most of those involved in her demise are no longer there. The city is on the way to solvency. As it took years to get here, it will also take time to come out of it. Instead of skiping over positive parts, opting for only the negative readings which are normally not toally accurate; attend a meeting, ask questions, become involved...or sit your ass down and shut up.

What are the positive parts I'm missing? OP said he/she was trying to start a business and was told "Hell No" (very professional btw), extra tax money would help lead to solvency a lot faster. You keep talking like something good is going on in Waveland. I did try to become involved at one time. I went a few meetings but if you go to a meeting only certain opinions are taken into consideration. If you aren't in the "in crowd" your ideas for helping are shunned and looked at like your the red headed step child. So I quit wasting my time.

Waveland should give any and every permit they can we need business badly here in this town! And yes meeting are a waste of time around here unless your a relative or someone putting money in the decision makers pockets!
