wHEN gREEN IS NOT ENOUGH

It's always good when 500 more households move downtown. It's even better when their apartments reclaim what for four decades had been a nondescript parking lot on a conspicuous corner.

In a down economy when projects are either being downsized or put on hold, any project that is moving forward these days and being built to LEED Gold standards should be applauded. A new green building project, more parking and this is not an asset for New Haven? I also can't see any flaws with this project and if it's an exposed parking garage that's a concern, Chicago has plenty of them and they look cool - the Bertrand Goldberg's Marina City complex and Contemporaine to name two. Forgive Becker + Becker for thinking big like Chicago.

bravo! this building will destroy that part of the city. unfortunately new haven city government shows its incompetence once again, ignoring the community's suggestions for improving the project.

Bringing a grocery store to downtown New Haven and 500 parking spaces along with residential apartments should be commended and not assaulted. Also, until Phil or anyone else can develop a city without cars... it would seem that his criticism is out of focus and unhelpful.
