My sister lives around the corner from this incident, and says the same home was robbed last year. Coupled with the sorts of low-lifes I see in the area, I only hope she moves out soon.

Its a good thing this didn't happen in West Haven! If the perpetrators attempted to flee and got hurt/killed in the process...perpatrators and surviving family can attempt to sue Officers.
That God there are still Police Officers who refuse to fear doing their jobs for some of our ignorant communities.

Write your state rep a BRIEF note.We want life in prison for violent rapists, molesters, pedophiles and predators who invade our homes to steal our belongings and often lives.Have everyone you know sign it. smartvote.org will give your rep by zip code. Voters aren't stepping up to say ENOUGH to criminals and soft CT lawmakers

This doesn't surprise me. Richard Gavis is just another one of the the Gavis to be arrested as of late. I have personally had many encounters with James Gavis, Rich's brother and whom is incarcerated and scheduled for release next month. The whole family is a bunch of criminals!

I am not sure what you are specifically looking for however, the State Victims Advocate Office-part of the Judicial Branch-may be able to asist you or point you in the right direction. There is a directory on the CT Judicial Branch web site that has a list of providers and groups who work with survivors.
I'm sorry there are so many protections for offenders and that you are having a tough time finding someone to assist. Don't stop. Serve your own Justice a little cold.

The career criminal James Gavis strikes again oh and again oh angain. This scum bag has been arrested 4 more times in the last 6 months YES 4 more times. This brings his grand total to 17 arrests. Not including the 10 times he has been pulled over for motor vehicle violations.Currently this criminal is facing several charges 4 of them being felonies. He has viloted his probation 4 times. He has violated a criminal protective order a restraining order. Yet this scum is still walking the streets. Way to go state of C.T. Judges Prosecuters and all others that are involved with letting this scum continue to do as he wants when he wants.Enough people have not died at the hands of criminals in this state. Its sad to say but a few more will have to be hurt or killed before this worthless state does anything to keep us safe.I bet if this was happening to someone in the Governors family this guy would not be walking the streets. It just goes to show you that criminals have more rights then victims do. Thanks for all the help you have given my friend and her family. I hope someday you can feel the pain that this family goes threw on a daily basis.
