Monday, Nov. 9 Event to Feature Cell Phones for Soldiers Drive
Benefiting U.S. Troops
WHAT: Gamers on a mission to play the much-anticipated game “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” can head to a special midnight release party at BLOCKBUSTER on Monday, Nov. 9. The BLOCKBUSTER store at 724 Green Bay Road in Waukegan will host the event featuring a pre-release game demo, plus the chance to be among the first to rent, purchase or possibly win the game when it is released at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
Enter to win a PS3 or XBOX360 system, wireless headsets, wireless controllers and copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2! Call of Duty game prizes will be available for pickup at the store a 12:01 pm on Nov. 10.
The event will also feature the opportunity to help real-life heroes – U.S. troops. Event-goers are invited to donate old cell phones, which will be recycled by Cell Phones for Soldiers to buy calling cards for troops far from home. Other activities at the event include an exhibit of collectible military vehicles by the Chicagoland Military Vehicle Collectors, THE DRIVE 97.1 radio crew, with games and prizes and free pizza from Mike's Pizza House.

HOW: Admission is free and open to the public.“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” game software will be available for rent or purchase on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
WHY:“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,” a first-person shooter game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, is the sequel to the multiple Game of the Year winner “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” and is the sixth in the popular “Call of Duty” series.
OFFERING In addition to offering “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” game software for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, participating BLOCKBUSTER stores will have the following items, also being released Nov. 10, available for sale while supplies last:
·“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Hardened Collector’s Edition” for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, featuring a premium Steelbook case, hardbound art book and game software.
·“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized” game software for Nintendo DS
·“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex” game software for Wii (the original “Modern Warfare” game ported to the Wii platform)
