I have heard rumors that one of the funeral homes in Wauchula is in financial trouble. I am trying to find out what happens to my mother's pre-paid funeral expenses if that is the case. Any news would be helpful and appreciated

First, challenge the rumor. Rumors can help a funeral establishment into financial trouble, so please call the funeral home in question and ask some questions to determine if this rumor is just that, or true.
If the funeral home is in trouble, contact other funeral homes in the area to discuss their taking on the pre need contract.
One very important question, if this is so: Was your Mothers' pre paid funeral part of a life insurance policy, or trust account locally? If it was a life insurance policy, then any funeral home will most likely honor it. But communications is key, listening to rumors can be informative, but confirming is most important.
If in fact you learn the pre paid funeral is in a trust account, see about converting it to a life insurance product. Typically, they are safer in my opinion.
