Chet, yes as a matter of fact I have and just so you know.. not being a bitch here, just informing.. ADD is an outdated diagnosis, it's ADHD exclusively now. My son has been seen and we were told he does have ADHD. Does this make him unteachable? no.

First of all, you're reading, not hearing anything. Secondly, you didn't have to read through this post. It was your choice. I actually work, as does my husband, so I don't have time to homeschool my children. If I did, I would be more than happy to. As I said before, I was more concerned with the wording of "unteachable child" than anything else.
Oh, and "LMAO too"
Weather or not it's a diagnoses or not, a teacher has no athority to make such a judgement.
You say you don't "have time" to homeschool your child. Well teachers don't have time to spend extra time trying to teach your child, as they are too busy teaching 20-30 others at the same time. If you're so interested in getting someone to teach your unteachable child, then I'd be considering quitting your job and teaching him yourself! Then you'll know his/her education will be done to your liking...just saying.

If your child has been diagnosed with ADHD then I hope you have him on medication. BTW there is a diagnosis of ADD, Attention Deficit Disorder (just no hyperactivity). If you don't have your kid on medicine and he is hyper then I would imagine he is unteachable if he can't pay attention to learn. What do you expect a teacher to do with a hyper kid that won't listen? She has 20 or 25 more kids to teach and if you want your kid to learn then do your job and get him on medication so he can focus and quit blaming the teacher.

Years ago when my son had her as a teacher we had differences of opinion didn't mean either one of was wrong we just had to find a solution to the problem .I asked to hold a meeting and had them get some one that had experience with child behaviors to be present to help us all understand what was going on between my child and the teacher so we all could get a solution to the problem be happy again so that my son could learn what he needed to .Medication had to be changed plus extra help from a teachers aide so that he could learn to focus in the class room better .I even volunteered few days in class to see what he was and wasn't doing that he should have been .Mrs Dean will fight for help for children with Autism and I think she would for children that suffer from other problems as well .I us to not care for her but once I understood some of the problems I was able to get past all that anger towards her I think you may be able to as well .I know who this is we have talked about it .School Psychologist and Stephanie are good sources to check into .Good Luck Best Wishes .
