The reason why cops don't go after real crimes is because real crimes are to dangerous and they are not making allot of money off it.
It is so much easier to sit on their fat asses in the car, eating doughnuts ,and pointing a radar gun at passing cars than actually fighting crime. College kids and fake I.D.'s are a non dangerous, non physical type of thing they like to do in order to keep themselves out of danger.
I wonder about all the 18 year old kids fighting in Iraq that are being slaughtered for Bush- are they allowed to drink a beer?
Susan, your name sounds very familiar. Are you the Susan Smith who left her car in the lake with your two small boys strapped in the backseat near Union, SC a few years back? If so, how did you get out of the slammer so soon? Just asking!

I know what I did was wrong. I made a mistake that I will live with forever. I am sincerely sorry for breaking the law in a manner that could endanger someones life. I appreciate everyone that is supporting me, and wish I could take back what i did, but i can't. I respect anyone's opniion who thinks I should go to jail, but know we all make mistakes and this was my big one and last.

With Many Regrets,

Quit beating yourself up over this. You did wrong, and you acknowledge that you did. That takes more insight and maturity than most REAL criminals have. I sincerely hope that there will be no further repercussions from the law. In my opinion the whole thing was blown way out of proportion. Good luck to you, and find some peace within yourself.

Get your identity stolen by someone using a fake ID and see how harmless the crime of making/possessing a fake ID is.

Obviously you missed the point. These kids did not "steal" someone's identity, nor were they using it for any illegal purposes other than getting into local clubs and having a drink. The United States is the only country that I am personally aware of that does not have a problem sending a seventeen year old kid to fight a war that they did not vote on, and then get slaughtered (as long as they are sober) However, they are not considered old enough to have an alcoholic beverage. If someone is old enough to go off to war, they should be old enough to have a drink, as long as they do it responsibly. European countries allow underage kids to go to clubs until midnight. They also allow kids to drink when they turn eighteen. They do not have a fraction of the alcohol problems that this country has. Incidentally, why is it that fifteen year olds are allowed to drive several tons of loaded deadly weapons on the streets each day all across the U.S.??? Yes, a car is a deadly weapon. Have you seen the statistics of teenage auto fatalities in this country? Once again, Europe has it correct. THEY do not allow children to drive, the also do not give out licenses like candy over there. One has to EARN it. Rigorous driving lessons are MANDATORY. Judging from the local news paper, it is also perfectly acceptable for children as young as five, to carry and use another deadly weapon - riffles and shot guns are perfectly acceptable down south, and not only that, they get praised and prominently brag about the dear, bear, etc., that they "bagged".
Get your priorities straight people.
