Thank you for addressing Proposition 2 in your article. All Californians can improve the lives of 20 million animals in the state by voting YES! on Prop 2 this November!

I'm so glad animal suffering is being spotlighted more often in the news!

I am disgusted with what goes on. Why would you ever want to cause pain to anyone or anything?

great article! so many people have no idea how badly animals raised for food are treated. vote YES! to Prop 2 and give animals enough room to stand up and turn around.

Quote: " When a human being kills an animal for food, he is neglecting his own hunger for justice. Man prays for mercy, but is unwilling to extend it to others. Why then should man expect mercy from God? It is unfair to expect something that you are not willing to give." -- Isaac B. Singer

This proposition is just another work of PETA. Animals are put here for food and this sort of nonsense just won't make it by the voters who have far more important issues like losing their jobs and their houses to worry them.

I grew up eating meat like most Americans. But as I learned more and more about factory farming, I completely lost my taste for it and have been vegetarian for about 10 years. Not only is my health improved, but I feel good about not contributing to the pain and suffering of animals by financing it. My decision includes not buying other animal products such as leather.

I urge all Americans to recognize that although farm animals are headed for eventual slaughter, they still deserve to be treated humanely while they are alive. Otherwise, we cannot consider ourselves responsible or Christian.

Please Vote YES on Prop. 2

This proposition is something only do-gooder vegans and animal rights wackos could love. Farm animals only have one purpose, to provide humans with food.

So lets all become vegetarians, let all the cattle and poultry and the like go free and wild, so they can become extinct.........or would you want to put them in a zoo? Dont get me wrong, I am against animal cruelty, but these animals are here for us, if we didnt take care of the,, they would be long gone.

It is so unfortunate that there are people here who seem to think PETA is the only organization, that cattle and poultry would go free and wild, and that the proposition is only for do-gooder and vegans.
All of us are in this world together, whether human or non-human. We are to care for the animals. This proposition isn't even about becoming vegetarian. It's for animals that are being eaten by you people to at least be removed from cages. I grew up on a real farm in the 50s and 60s, and we wouldn't have dreamed of this kind of environment. It's all about profit now, and where there is cruelty, there is often an unhealthy product.
