Stone Property Management Arrests

The core issue is that non of the affected people have a vote or voice in the town. The "people in the know" allowed the problem to build. Perhaps we should retain counsel and deposit our taxes into an escrow account until this is cleared up and we're made whole.

Good advice. Aren't there board members that sit on various town committees?

It seems almost EVERYONE locally who had dealings with Stone knew something was wrong for at least the past year. Our Board members for the most part, live over 100 miles away and were not part of this information sharing. Most did not have any obligation to blow the whistle to the associations, but ironically, many associations are now turning to them for assistance.

a quick scan of the town meeting minutes revealed no info on stone property mgt but a lien placed on Hoyt property mgt was on the agenda in aug and Sept. What the hell is going on up there?

There were, in fact, many full time voting residents of the town who live in developments and associations that entrusted their reserve and operating accounts to Stone Management. I am one of many. This is about the actions of one or more bad people who preyed on a community filled with good people, some of whom vote here and some of who vote elsewhere. We are all in this together.

Does anyone now have any doubt that all the Stones were involved? And others?
When you have the relationships and trust that the Stones had it is not surprising that so many people could be ripped off.
If the town put themselves in a position to lose money because of a relationship there is no excuse for that.

Why all the inaction on our part? Isn't it time, those of us who were robbed formed a committee to see where liability lies and proceed with legal action? Class action suit? I can think of a number of people and groups (in addition to the Stones) who through negligence or inaction are also responsible for this debacle.

I am not sure ALL the Stones were involved. I have a hard time believing somoeone would spend 25 years building a business, tie up his name, house, assets and retirement in it, then steal all the money in a scheme that a 5 year old could unravel. Just doesn't add up to me.

A couple years on easy street doesn't seem like it would be worth it.

Nope, just don't think a person changes that much in such a short time. Been around a little while, know them all, might know you....just my opinion. Not related, there are no winners here, everyone looses.

Old Bar Keep.... If you spent 25yrs building a business, became semi retired so to speak, turned over the reins to the next generation, then all of a sudden found out those you trusted were far from trustworthy, but you still legally owned 51 % of the business, lets be honest here, are you not still responsible? If you didnt know, you should have known .

Look he didn't build a business, he purchased an already running business. In fact Waterville property management or whatever the name was was a much bigger, he lost clients which went to Hoyt and others.

And your point would be? How does that avoid responsibility?
